Jeep has 160k miles, minus the 30k OEM tires, I’ve averaged 62,500 miles out of a AT tire almost 35”. Have yet try the Falken ATVs, but I’ve gotten half the mileage on other major brand AT tires. I just got some AT4W's on my Duramax. They are 315/75R16's and weigh a whopping 76.6 lbs each. They ride smooth and quiet but you can definitely feel the weight when you hit the sharper bumps. I used to have BFG's on this truck, and in the same size they just looked wimpier. Not sure about other sizes, but in my size the BFG's run small and don't look nearly as good. They are also more prone to dry rot, which isn't really a concern if you drive a lot. Since my truck sits around quite a bit I need a tire that will last a long time, not just a lot of miles. I had been running the Hankook RF10's which I really liked. They were discontinued and I didn't like the new Hankook AT2's. I've only had the Falkens for a short time but so far I'm happy with the looks and performance.

Have been driving ko3s since July in Buffalo NY, I’ll check back with yall come winter but so far in all the rain we have gotten and it’s been a good amount. Like I said from Buffalo so winter will be another test. I also have family who owns property we hunt on and have zero issues driving through fields and mud. I didn’t take it off road and through a foot or two of mud. But again as my daily driver and something I use for hunting and towing these tires have been nothing short of AMAZING. One complaint I do have though is when you’re on gravel roads boy oh boy do they toss rocks. So don’t have anyone you like follow you. Or if someone is pissing you off just let them sit behind you, guaranteed they back off after a couple stones off the windshield. I absolutely love my KO3s. (LT275-70-r18) 10 ply

@@Daniel-gs8xu Absolutely! I think the Kenda is a better tire because it voids mud better than both the other brands and it still holds onto snow. How do they compare to the Mickey Thompson Baja at?
@Josh90792 ай бұрын
They don’t lol. The MT are heavy but so are the AT4w now so🤷♂️. I have the MT at and they are unreal

I run the mickey t baja boss at there more steared for off-road for a at tire compared to these other two. There heavy They take alot of weights to balance. 3 peak rated but not as good as the falkens in snow wet conditions. Very durable Handle extremely well For how aggressive they are there extremely quit I believe 50k mile warranty. Good tires I would by again. Alot better than the ridge grappler

Just got the KO3's they are sick!!

Do they hook up in the rain though. Like really really get traction and not try to kill you like the K02

Wet performance should be a priority in wetter climates.

Falkens for me, I have struggled to balance BFG’s and when the BFG’s get low on tread they start separating cords/belts I’ve had three sets do this, will never go back to BFG

That's not entirely true about the 3PMS rating. There is an ISO standard that describes a standardized test in which the test tire must perform better than a standard tire in an acceleration test on snow by a specific margin. While it may not be policed by anyone, this is the test the manufacturer is expected to perform.

big fan of Falken street tires but off road not so much. The AT/4 is not as good in the dirt/mud as the AT/3 was and my first three trips to the KAT, Georgia Traverse and Hurricane Creek, the KO3 has had better traction in the loose dirt and mud than the Falkens I just swapped out. I'm driving an old school leaf spring/V8/manual trans truck. Traction is a lot harder to come by regardless. I do think the Falkens are better on the road. But I don't push my old Dodge hard on the hwy so its not as big a deal.

I’m in the market for new tires. Here’s the situation…I have a 2019 Chevy Tahoe Z71. 265/R65/18 Goodyear duratrac tires. Last year I replaced two of the tires because they were in bad shape. (Apparently the dealership didn’t balance correctly-not sure). In any case I have two almost new tires and two that now need to be replaced. Problem is that the duratracs that I have are now discontinued. The Duratrac RTs have replaced them. Would it be acceptable to mix the original two Duratracs with the RTs? Or should I replace all four? And should I stick with Goodyear or change? I’m in Louisiana so it’s a lot of wet city roads. I do have BFG KO3s on my Jeep, but I’m not sure if that’s a good choice for the Tahoe. Any input is appreciated.

I got a set of 5 of the AT4w, the tires (not one) could not be properly balanced, in the cold they hopped for the first hour then would round out and roll on. I put 2000 miles on them trip to Moab trail runs and back, they did great on the trail. When I got back America's tires took the back and put on a set of K02S they are amazing in all conditions, they are round in all weather and balanced perfectly. I have tree sets of AT 3 falcons they are great the AT4 is a failure in my book

Sorry to hear that. I just put a set on my Canyon AT4X. Perfect. Super smooth ride.

That's interesting. We haven't had issues. Thank you for the feedback though! Glad you found a tire that works for you.

Try a different shop. My guy had no issues.

@@carnagejlu yeah, the tire balancer was starting to walk over to the next shop, Falken requested the tires back, suggesting a faulty run of tires.

AT3Ws great tire. K02s great tires but will kill you in the rain. I had both. I'd still take AT3Ws over AT4Ws

Looking at installing one of these two tires. I've read that the KO3 picks up a ton of gravel. Does the wider spacing on the AT4W do a better job? Is the AT4W noticably louder than the KO3 or pitchy? Thanks!

You can keep those Wildpeaks, MY FJ has non stop been trying to get these tires balanced and it just could not be done.

The 3 ply sidewall is a very popular marketing gimmick that started with BFG when they introduced the first off road radial ( around the late 70's) and everyone was worried about the radials inherent sidewall weakness for off road. Does "3 ply" rating make the tires sidewall better than a 2 ply sidewall? Nope, it depends on the thickness, materials, design, etc. We've seen 14 ply motor grader tires cut like butter when wet and against a root. Although a heavier tire means less MPG and potentially a rougher ride, mass equals strength IMO. Five to eight pounds of additional rubber and belts per tire means better puncture resistance in the real world when comparing apples to apples.

I've had both, km3 were great off road. However didn't last very long

How is the Falken sidewall better looking than the KO3 sidewall? KO3 looks way more aggressive.

In your side by side comparison you have the AT4W noise at a 7 and the KO3 at an 8 and show KO3 to be the winner? I’m confused

Yeah this I would like to see, but not only with the E load tires. They both offer an SL variant and it would be nice to see that comparison for people that want performance but not at the cost of a heavy tire.
