I followed your tutorial and made a blanket for my girlfriend as a Christmas gift. I’m glad I got the idea to do this in late November because it took me a month to finish. Almost 33 hours of work. Your tutorial was insanely helpful and very easy to follow. Everyone I’ve shown has loved the blanket and says it looks amazing. Thanking you for that

Just finished my blanket. I used 5 x 223yrds which is 1115 yrds total. I also used a 8mm hook. I am in love with my blanket! Instead of 74, I did 80 and it is the perfect length and height. QUICK TIP, I know she says go to the second chain hole, but doing that made the first row shorter, so I refused to skip the first and go to the second. Thank you so much for this tutorial!

I've been crocheting my first blanket for almost a week now. A little here and a little there. I haven't picked up a crochet hook since around 2014 or 2015 so it's been a minute! A good tip that I learned is to complete a swatch of the project you're looking into creating. That'll build your confidence and will give you a little "warm-up session' before you get started. The blanket I'm creating is completely single crochet so easy peasy! :) I learned right off the bat as well: COUNT YOUR STITCHES!!!!! I count my stitches as I am crocheting and it keeps me from having to go back. I can't wait to complete my first mixed-color blanket. :) Thanks for the video.

I followed this tutorial after falling in love with crochet after getting my first Woobles kit (and subsequently ordering 6 more and finishing them all in two weeks). This was a great starting point for any beginner and yields such a gorgeous end result. I made mine 100 stitches wide instead of 75, and ended up using about 1.5 skeins per color block. I would love to try this same pattern using neopolitian ice cream colors next!!! Its such a fun project to fly through while you're watching TV and sipping on a yummy drink!

Simple single crochet US or double crochet UK is great for pets beds. My senior loves hers. She doesn't get her claws stuck in it, as the stitches are tight. I used two 4 weighted strands together as I didn't have any chunky yarn. I used a 6 hook size. Thank you. Love it ❤

This made it look so easy that I had to try it myself! I wasn’t ambitious enough to do the full blanket so I did a scarf to try it out. I finished it within that same day after about 3 hours of work. It’s so soft and nice and it was easy to do after I got a pace going. I started to crochet about 18 months ago but became discouraged with it. I have been knitting for a few years but see so many pretty crochet projects that made me want to learn. I recently decided I want to make a Christmas afghan to have ready for next year, lol! In looking for a pattern tutorial I discovered your channel. I was SO impressed with the way you teach and explain everything. But the best part is how you so clearly show the stitches!!! Thank you!!! That's just what I needed to clear up some confusion. I got so excited and just had to start on the beginner crochet scarf. I am making several for friends as gifts for next Christmas. They are turning out great! This tutorial is great! I couldn’t find the yarn recommended so I’m using 8 different colors, a few different brands, same size (6), and 100% polyester yarn, and only changing the color when I run out. They didn’t have the hook size so I bought a 15.75mm and a 10mm. 10mm works great! Even 15mm seems gigantic. Starting it was extremely difficult as I couldn’t see my stitches and even with multiple tutorials I couldn’t find exactly where to insert my hook. I’ve evened out since. One skein made 19.5 rows for me. I’ll update when I finish! Update: Finished! Took me about 2 weeks. I used 5 full skeins and 8 rows of 3 different colors. It turned out great! Very heavy and thick, and long enough to cover my whole body. Thanks for the tutorial!

This was a really good video on getting started on a blanket. I would recommend using stitch markers on each end of the blanket which helped prevent me from missing stitches on each row. It's also a good idea to measure your chain when you start out because your initial count may not be the same as what is shown in the video (will be different depending on the yarn you are using). I had to restart a couple times and it seemed that 90 chains was better in the end for the type of yarn I was using.

@@alysongreen8663 I bough the exact same yarn as this pattern and followed the pattern 1 to 1, using the same size hook and everything. For me I bought 9 skeins of Oatmeal and 7 of Petrol Blue. I had 3 Oatmeal and 2 Petrol Blue left over after I was done. So I only needed 6 skeins of Oatmeal and 5 of Petrol Blue. I found that every stripe was just over one skein of yarn. I could see someone modifying the patter to have the stripes 11 rows high to make every stripe one skein. But I will say that when the yarn arrived some skeins looked bigger then others even though they were the same brand and color so maybe have a bit extra will be good if you are ordering the yarn online.

I've been trying to learn how to crochet for over a year now. Every video I have watched overwhelms me, and the patterns are simply too confusing. However, I found Bhooked (and especially this beginner friendly blanket tutorial) sometime last week and I have loved it! I am already finished with a large part of the blanket, and have really felt that I finally am getting the hang of crochet. I am still very beginner level, but I am definitely going to use B.Hooked for the rest of my crochet learning journey!

Yay, I made this beautiful blanket throw last week (my first creative crochet project in over 40 years). I had to relearn the stitches and your video and a really good beginner crochet book helped me be successful. You are a great teacher. I've had several requests to make more for my daughters, other family members, and friends. I'm sure I will have my Christmas projects finished early. I think my next quick project will be the snood. 🤩❤

I DID IT!!! I MADE THE BLANKET!!! After watching many, many how-to videos on crochet and never understanding the techniques shown on these videos, I watched your video Brittany and finally understood how to do a single crochet and make the blanket. Thank you so much Brittany! Your video and instructions were clear, concise, and easy to understand. I love the blanket and use it every night. 😊 If anyone who is reading this is new to crochet, I encourage you to watch Brittany's video and make this blanket. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, (I made a couple of errors in counting) just work each row and very soon you will find that making this blanket is easy and fun. Thank you again Brittany. I really enjoyed making this blanket and look forward to making more of your projects. 🙂

I bough the exact same yarn as this pattern and followed the pattern 1 to 1, using the same size hook and everything.

I made a blanket for my mom for Christmas which ended up being the perfect gift because she also just had a knee surgery and has spent a lot of time resting and recovering. She loves it so much and it felt good to give her something I made myself! It was my first ever crochet project after only practicing some different stitches. It took me quite awhile to finish but that was mainly because I didn’t have much time to work on it. Definitely helped me get the single crochet stitch down so I can crochet a lot faster now! Hey there! I just started making my blanket based off of her tutorial, and I'm using the exact same yarn type she is, I bought 12 spools of yarn total. Each stripe uses a little more than one spool of yarn and this blanket has 9 stripes in total so if you're doing it in 2 colors like she is, you'll wanna get 4 of one color and 5 of the other color, and then one or two extra spools of yarn for each color, so like 11 to 13 spools of yarn total. Hopefully that makes sense lol
