I had a fear that went back much further than Trump. Ironically it was because of the same collectivism I respect so much now. It was actually Trump who opened my eyes to the problem. I hated every decision he made regarding China, and I noticed that China's responses were always justified, fair, clever, and polite. My hatred of Trump made me recognize that I had unchallenged assumptions. Our media only represented China as a threat. Surely in such a large country with so many people, something positive must happen once in a while. So I went looking and found Cyrus Janssen, Jason Lightfoot, and Pascal Coppens. They had reasonable viewpoints on everything, with Jason being sarcastic about the US in a way that grew on me. When I found out what we did to Laos, it flipped a switch. I saw my conditioning for what it was, and it was undone. Since then, I've only seen China as fascinating and inspiring; the greatest hope for the future of humanity.

Very sad but true that 60-70% of the people of the richest country in the world have not stepped off shore yet, whereas each year, 100-150million chinese communists have been travelling to other countries yearly from 2017. And all the hundreds of millions of communists went home to their communist country.
@conti-vl6tx5 ай бұрын
I think there is fundamentally a major misunderstanding on China. What the major misunderstanding is? We^ve seen that China was ruled by communist party in 1949, 1979 and it'll still be ruled by communist party now and many people assume that China hasn't changed as it still being run by the same Communist Party. But the Chinese Communist Party has obviously changed fundamentally. If you went to China in 1980's. The Chinese people didn't have the freedom. They couldn't choose what to wear, they all wore Maoist suits, they couldn't choose where to live, where to work, what to study and certainly Zero Chinese could travel overseas. Now you go back to China. The Chinese people can choose what to wear, where to live, where to work, where to study and guess what? Every year, 120 million Chinese leave China freely as tourists and amazingly, 120 million Chinese return to China freely. In the year 2019, 139 million Chinese left China freely. And guess what? 0 defectors. 139 million Chinese right? that's twice the population of the UK. 139 million Chinese went back to China. Now, if China was a communist gulang Satalinist state would you go back to China? And so there's a complete misunderstanding of China. Clearly, while the political freedoms in China haven't increased but the personal freedom of the Chinese people have exploded. One of the questions that future historians will be very puzzled by is the judgement made by America on China and i'll explain why they'll be puzzled. The United States of America is about 240 years old and Chinese history may be 2400 years old or more. In today's world, you have a society which is 240 years old passing judement of a society which is 2400 years old. And at a time when China has had its best 30 years history, the Americans are tell Chinese: "you guys are not doing very well and you should change your political system and you should listen to us, become a democracy and all will be well with you'. There's 1 thing that Chinese leaders, there's whole shades of opinion among them. The one complete point of agreement that they all have is that they saw what happened to the Soviet Communist Party, they saw what happened to the Soviet Union, they saw what happened to Russia, you went overnight to a democracy and guess what? The Russian economy imploded, life expectancy came down, infant mortality went up, the Russian people suffered. And the Chinese said: 'This is what happens when you have instant democracy'. So when the Chinese say: 'Give us time', 'let us transform our political system in our own way' I'd say: 'Let them do it'. Why do Americans think they would know better what's good for China? Does that reflect the fact that for 200 years US got used to doing it telling the world how they should behave and therefore they think they can be a better judge of the rest of the world? Those judgemental character in the West has got to adapt to the rest of the world because the rest of the world today is less willing to be judged by Westerner

Sinophobia is real thing. Curiously there is no Indophobia. One thing most people (including the Chinese and Indians) don't know is that India in the middle of the last century bullied and land grabbed China. But the narrative even to this day is that India is a victim of Chinese aggression in the 1962 war between the two countries. Here is a timeline of how South Tibet became Arunachal Pradesh: 1912: In the first full year of the Republic of China after the fall of the Qing dynasty, the United States National Geographic Magazine dedicated an issue to China. Accompanying the issue is a large and detailed fold-out map of China. The map clearly shows that Dirang Dzong (德讓宗) and Tawang (達旺) are within the boundary of China. 1943: British India likely calculated that dealing with the Lhasa government was easier than with the Republic of China's Nationalist Government in extracting land concessions and proposed to the United States to recognize Tibet's right to exchange diplomatic representatives with other powers. The Americans rejected this proposal: "The Government of the United States has borne in mind the fact that the Chinese Government has long claimed suzerainty over Tibet and that the Chinese constitution lists Tibet among areas constituting the territory of the Republic of China. This Government has at no time raised a question regarding either of those claims." 1944: British India annexed Dirang Dzong (德讓宗), a Tibetan-settled area. Dzong means fort in Tibetan. The Chinese Government (the Nationalist Government of the Republic of China, seated in Kunming at the time because of World War II) protested to the British. So did the Tibetan Lhasa government. 1945: British India intruded into the tribal area of South Tibet. February 1947: The Chinese Nationalist Government lodged a complaint with the Indian mission, which was by then newly established in China, on British India's border intrusions into Chinese territory. August 1947: Britain left South Asia, and India was created as the successor polity to the departed British. India's creation means that a country that historically did not exist suddenly appears on China's doorstep. October 1947: The Tibetan Lhasa Government dispatched a formal request to New Delhi, asking the newly independent Indian Government to withdraw all its predecessors' intrusions into the territory between the McMahon Line and the traditional border beneath the foothills and return a wide swath of territory from Ladakh to Assam, including Sikkim and the Darjeeling district. 1949: When the Nationalist Government's retreat to Taiwan was imminent, the Republic of China's ambassador in New Delhi reminded the Indian Government that China did not recognize the McMahon Line and held the Simla Convention invalid. October 1949: The CCP (Chinese Communist Party) took control of the mainland, and its civil war rival, the Republic of China, retreated to Taiwan. December 1949: India recognized the People's Republic of China as the legitimate government, effectively cutting off the diplomatic channel the Republic of China used to deliver its protests to India. February 1951: India annexed Tawang (達旺), the birthplace of the Sixth Dalai Lama and home to the four-hundred-year-old Tawang Monastery. The Tibetan authorities in Lhasa protested but were simply informed by the Indian political officer that India was taking over Tawang. The Tibetans protested again, accusing the Indian Government of 'seizing as its own what did not belong to it.' The Tibetans went on to ask New Delhi to withdraw its forces from Tawang immediately. The protests were ignored. The Republic of China (which had already retreated to Taiwan by then and had no diplomatic relation with India) also vehemently denounced India's territorial travesty. The CCP (Chinese Communist Party) made no noise. 1954: India published a new map showing South Tibet as part of India. The map also shows the two countries, Sikkim and Bhutan, as part of India. January 1959: The CCP (Chinese Communist Party) commented for the first time on the issue of South Tibet when Zhou Enlai, in a letter to Nehru, offered to concede South Tibet to India. However, India rejected the offer, as it also sought control over Aksai Chin. 1960: India started establishing posts (border markers) north of South Tibet (north of the McMahon Line) and proclaiming that it has the right to unilaterally 'improve' the McMahon Line as it sees fit. October 1962: After years of warning, China attacked India's position in South Tibet and recovered Tawang shortly. Three weeks later, in a second wave, China recovered the whole of South Tibet. November 1962: China unilaterally withdrew back to the north of the McMahon line. 1975: India annexed Sikkim. 1987: India made South Tibet a state and renamed it the so-called Arunachal Pradesh. The Republic of China (Taiwan) put out a statement denouncing India. Here is the statement: "In regard to the issue of the Indian government's illegal occupation of our country's territory and the establishment of the so-called 'Arunachal Pradesh,' the foreign ministry of the Republic of China issued the following announcement at midnight: India's illegal occupation of our country's territory has been repeatedly stated by the Government of the Republic of China as something it will not recognize. Recently, the Indian Congress unilaterally passed the establishment of 'Arunachal Pradesh' to the south of the so-called McMahon Line. The Indian Government also made it a state. The Government of the Republic of China once again solemnly proclaims that the Government of India intends to legitimize its illegal occupation of Chinese territory. The Government of the Republic of China regards this as illegal, void, and absolutely not recognized." 2008: A little over a decade after Britain returned Hong Kong to China, Britain finally had no stake in Tibet and could afford to be honest for once. The British government made a statement recognizing China's sovereignty over Tibet (previously recognized as suzerainty, not sovereignty). The statement, supported by both the Conservative and Labour parties, is remarkable for its honesty in admitting that Britain once had territorial ambitions in Tibet, and it adopts an almost apologetic tone. Here is an excerpt: "...But our position is unusual for one reason of history that has been imported into the present: the anachronism of our formal position on whether Tibet is part of China, and whether in fact we harbour continued designs to see the break-up of China. We do not. Our ability to get our points across has sometimes been clouded by the position the UK took at the start of the 20th century on the status of Tibet, a position based on the geopolitics of the time. Our recognition of China’s “special position” in Tibet developed from the outdated concept of suzerainty. Some have used this to cast doubt on the aims we are pursuing and to claim that we are denying Chinese sovereignty over a large part of its own territory. We have made clear to the Chinese Government, and publicly, that we do not support Tibetan independence. Like every other EU member state, and the United States, we regard Tibet as part of the People’s Republic of China. " 2014: A Tibetan Chinese named Nido Tania from Arunachal Pradesh (occupied South Tibet) went to old Delhi and was beaten to death because he 'looked Chinese.' 2024: The festering border dispute between India and China persists.

Don't be concerned over the Sinophobes and naysayers over your video, Lizzie! These types were saying the same thing about Marco Polo back in the 1700s when he wrote about his travels into China, staying there for 17 years before returning to Venice to tell of the magnificence of Beijing (Peking) then ruled by Kublai Khan. The cynics who have NEVER set foot in China were probably calling Marco, "a Mongol bot" paid by the Mongols to propagandize their empire! So, I hope that you'll ignore the brain-dead zombies making their all-too familiar repeated derogatory comments here.

If you think your country is bad, build it; If you think the government is not good, you go to the civil service to become an official; If you think the people do not have quality, start from you to be a high-quality citizen; If you feel that your fellow citizens are ignorant, learn from you and change those around you. honestly, what distubs me more is I'm seeing new people who are just like SerpenZa and Laowhy86. They either teach or work in China. Yet, they constantly release videos that do nothing but trash talk about China. Why are they even there. I mean is the pay really that great., even if it's not, that's taking advantage or using the entire stay to basically make a living of talking bad about the place. This latest channel i'm talking about is Chopsticks and Trains. All the commentors are basically the same type of people from SerpenZa and Laowhy86.
@George-k6o9t5 ай бұрын
Both "SerpentZa" and "Laowhy86" are no longer in China. They slinked away a long time ago and went to Taiwan to pretend that they are still on the Mainland, using computer "green screen" to create their false narratives to fool and scam their viewers. They USED to work in China as English language "teachers" from South Africa although not qualified, charging high tuition fees but when China began to insist on higher teaching standards from foreigners and produce their legally recognized qualifications, the two found themselves unemployable. That was when they they began to turn on their host, China and became unwelcomed "guests".
@futo5 ай бұрын
@@George-k6o9t Wow that's a lot more backstory than the few tidbit that I know off, and I do know they're residing in California right now. but this latest channel Chopsticks and Trains, completely gives me that same entitlement and back talking about a place he's residing and working. He deleted one of my only comment on his channel, not to mention his followers are completely the same as Serpentza worshippers, accusing me of spreading propaganda. I really don't know what his backstory is.
@George-k6o9t5 ай бұрын
@@futo It would appear that their past in an apartheid regime and society in South Africa has remained a great influential factor on Winston Sterzel (SerpentZa) and his mate, Matthew Tye (laowhy86) - that is, they remain White Supremacists even though they have spent time in China. As such, they also tend to have an arrogancy especially Winston and thus, would not have any open mindedness towards anyone who has an alternate view to their own narrative and agenda. If I was you, I wouldn't concern myself with types such as these as they are actually beneath thinking about.
