I’ve installed diesel heaters before but always with gas vehicles and never had a diesel van. I’m planning on buying a sprinter this weekend. I watched this to see how you tapped into the auxiliary but had to keep watching because you two were quite entertaining. Nice job on the video and clean install

That aux connection is built into my sprinter 2018 as well. Couple of other things - the pump must be at a 15 to 30 degree angle stop cavitation you should get white hose About 2mm ID for long runs and the rubber hose at the joints to filter / pump etc with hose clamps

Great video thank you very much. I do have a question. What happened to the silver metal plate that came with the heater? Did you guys decide not to use it? I’m wondering where it’s supposed to go does it go underneath the rubber or what?

Also the switch idea is a Nono as the unit needs to cool down before switching off or it is toast.

The auxiliary fuel outlet commection from your van's tank, was that already there or did you install?

Whats the 2 year update on this thing? Still running strong? Anything you would do differently?

To turn it off with the button you have to hold the power button down a few seconds I use one in my truck also learned that the hard way I added a switch it the line and found it causes issues if you don't turn it off with the power button so it powered down and burns off the exstra fuel in side the burn chamber

you both have great content and this always surprises me when hardly any comments. This van is looking killer and bet you two couldn't wait to use it once done.

Hey just watched your video, I’m about to install one of the heaters in an identical van. I’m nervous that the line going to the tank is just a vent. I hope I’m wrong and yours works. Any issues with that line?

Great video. Been very helpful. My setup was very similar to yours . What fuel connector did you end up getting to hook up to the sprinter fuel line? I got it temporarily hooked up like you for now but looking for the right piece

Looking into getting one of these. How was the filter upgrade? Also, did you make sure the drain hole in the muffler was facing down? Looks like it isn't from the video. Any issues? Miss these vids 😢

How did it work? Did it get to hot? I have a 144 low roof also. I bought the 5 watt but thinking it's pretty big so I bought the 2 watt.

Should that metal plate not be bolted to the floor? 🤷🏼♂️
@dconnole82 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video. I'm installing the same heater, but I noticed the floor under the seat pedestal in my van is actually a little sloped. Is yours like that too? Have you had any problems if it is? Would love to hear back since my plan is to try to knock this out tomorrow 🤦♂💀

was wondering the same thing did you install it on the slope?

Hi, did you find out anything about installing on sloped floor?? My sprinter van is 2013 and sloped and not sure what to do about it? Did you get yours installed and what year is your van? Thanks

You don't drive a cheap Chinese van, so why use a cheap Chinese diesel air heater? How has it held up since installing? PS. You guys have some rad power tools. 👍
@DreamStateLiving3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Karl! welp as mentioned, the other heaters are close to $1,000. We usually try to avoid the cold in general so most likely wouldn't be putting this to much use. As we aren't made of money (unfortunately lol) we chose to go the budget friendly route on the heater unit and upgrade all the secondary parts to it like the fuel line and filter. We still haven't put it to extensive use, but was working great last time we tested it. Others have seemed to have good success with it as well, which is another reason we decided to go this route. :)
