Get a nice SunZero curtain for that window. That natural light is probably playing havoc with that tank. Very common practice on the other side of the tank. I would say definitely add some shrimp!!! They use little claws to pick at things and those craggy rocks are heaven for them. :) (Freshwater hobbyist here)
