I have thick, dense textured, high porosity, 3c /4a curls - I’m doing the no raw butter/oil method and it’s a god send. Double shampoo - deep condition - add only uncle funky curl magic in shower and then style outside shower with WET LINE (not apart of this method lol). I definitely style my hair in sections. I can now get away with a once a week wash, but she tangly girl. Appreciate the visibility and recognition Bianca :). Love your videos - could you find a model with real 3c/4a curls with dense texture to style or at least high porosity hair :) - not critical as you nailed it for this video -

Loving this video series!!💕 It’s interesting how some can have a mix of textures and density. My hair is coarse/medium textured (the individual strands are thick) but it’s low density so I need volume. I follow a lot of these techniques for “thick” hair even though my hair is low density. 🤗

I have thick, very highly dense, VERY low porosity 3c curls. I used to do the no oils/butters for YEARS but when I figured out how to use them I’m loving them! 😂 I really love oils and butters to keep my ends lubricated. I have long hair too. One thing that has helped with moisture retention is using henna and Ayurveda. 😍❤️

When you mentioned thick hair and low porosity that is me! I make hair can get overloaded if I use too thick of product while styling. I do detangle prior to washing the night before and that has really helped wash day go quicker and I end up retaining more of hair. Thanks for the videos. Great tips.

5 hours air drying time for a W&G sounds amazing. My thick, dense, low porosity, mid back type 4 hair takes over 24 hours to dry for pretty much any style I air dry. Longest it took to fully dry was 2 miserable days. That is why I defuse my W&G...sleeping with a wet W&G is not fun.

I add my leave in in the shower or at the sink all over my head and leave on for a few mins, then I section and my styling products. I sit under the hooded dryer for about 30/40 mins. Then the rest the way I diffuse. I had to experiment to find what technique works for my hair.

You’re literally the Curl Queen for this!!! Love this series so much. Thank you Bianca!! It’s so fun watching you do our routine 😁 Thank you for that note!!! Just cause you have thick hair doesn’t mean your hair needs thick products. My hair likes medium consistency with slip and more concentrated products. The curls for the curls 🏋🏾♀️🤣. Sections definitely give you a deeper reach everything and no strand is left behind. Your results came out beautifully! 5 1/2 hours is good! Mine takes atleast 24 hours lol. You def had one of hours days aha. Now you see how shrinkage be kicking our butts too! Awesome video!!!

Quick tip next time you do this routine stretch your roots with a blow dryer and concentration nozzle. This will help with the shrinkage from air drying. Personally it takes 2 days for my hair to air dry in a wash n go state so I sit under a hooded dryer for 1.5hrs. On medium heat/high fan.

Thanks for the tip about mixing leave in and gel to see if they are compatible. That is Mt take away. I have thick hair and do not do all that. I only section when I put in styler. I do two sections for conditioner and I do twist it to make it easy to put the shower cap on. I spend an hour to 90 minutes top. I do not have that time. When I use styling products on wet hair it does take 2 days to dry. I am lokibg for styling products I can put on damp hair.

I have thick curly hair and I will definitely try detangling before the wash w/ conditioner and shapooig in sections. Also, I'll try out the creme/leave-in stuff you were talking about.
@LatashaTrueHeart2 жыл бұрын
I have tried using warmed olive oil and it helps detangle and soften hair before shampooing. Conditioner works as a pre-poo detangler, but you may wind up using a lot of it. That gets tricky when you need it post-shampoo. Strained aloe vera plant gel or banana or avocado will leave your hair super soft and moisturized as a pre-poo. If you don't strain them, it takes forever to get the little bits out. Good luck & God-speed on your next wash day!
@LatashaTrueHeart2 жыл бұрын
Leave-ins are game-changers! Make sure to seal in the moisture & leave-in with an oil or butter afterwards to maintain your moisture. Then you can add a styling product and enjoy amazing results!

I do so much of this! For styling medium-&-above density aaand medium-&-above porosity (esp. if the strands are fine), having a spray bottle with water is so important for working in sections! These are tried & true techniques. Pre-Pooing is a must if you want to revive & detangle before you shampoo. Twists & sections help use less products, helps get more definition, and makes it easier to detangle. My hair drinks up ALL that moisture, so I had to constantly add water. It was better to apply products in the shower because saturated wet hair was easier to style, plus showers penetrates my hair better than a light mist of water on top of my hair that I'd have to work in. Adding oils after water & leave-inyo seal in moisture. It takes eons for my hair to dry. That's so true! I didn't finger coil - too tedious! I have avton of hair. I didn't mind my shrinkage. (I don't always care for volume. My hair has always naturally accomplished major mondo mundo volume.) I like my hair growing back from the disaster that caused my Big Chop 2.0. I like this video. I even learned something new to try. I've only used a very few of those products. The thicker the creams, oils, and gels, the better my results. Applying lighter products to my hair is like feeding a leaf of iceberg lettuce to a lion. That just ain't gon' cut it, Boo. Olive Oil or Jojoba Oil, Melanin HC & Kinky Curly definitely worked for me. Oil goes on after the leave-in, but before the gel or styler to seal in moisture and act as a barrier to prevent the gels/styler from drying out my hair. (That's a Naptural85 aka Whitney White bka Melanin Hair Care Creator style guru tip!) The crying & upper body w/o are hilarious but I get it. It took 4-Eva to do my hair. I had to take breaks! My hair was never as long as Bianca's or Whitney's! (Or maybe it almost was, but again, I liked my shrinkage.) I actually liked to diffuse to speed up my drying process. I've tried using the concentrator with a little tension on the roots to help elongate or tried a stretching technique after it dried. These days, I finger comb to produce my curls since my hair is so short. I'm having fun again! Cool video!

To air dry is better to do your hair early in the morning... It doesn't take long for a wash hair day when you already know your hair. I've been getting shorter my time for wash hair because everytime I know my type 4 hair better and better 😃😃😃. And I love it every day more and more!!!!

That was really interesting. I have really thick curls, but I don’t do all that to be honest. I definitely detangle before the shower though with African Pride Moisture Miracle Prepoo. And I put my sections into twists after applying it and leave them for 30 minutes before I shower. Then I go classic shampoo, condition, deep-condition, add leave-in and style. As my washday is Sunday, I never really use any gels. And I only airdry if I start in the mornings. Today I’m late, so I might diffuse because they won’t be dry before bed otherwise…

I haven't brushed my hair in over a year except fingure detangling in the shower and then add leave in conditioner.. I sometimes add a curl cream but never gel since I don't like it hard. I always pre poo with the African pride. I didn’t realize how important pre pooling was type 4 hair until 3 years ago and it technically knocks down wash day cause I would spend too much time in the shower detangling while conditioning. So now I just do pre poo, shampoo, conditioning to smooth out more tangles and then deep conditioning. Of course I use my felisha leatherwood brush. As for styling, yes a cream before gel is a must cause gel would dry out the texture alone so we have to protect the mane moisture wise as mich as possible

I'll rinse my hair + scalp as best as I can first, before conditioning and detangling. Then rinse, shampoo, then deep co. Rinse. Run a leave in condish thru it before I go to bed. Wake up, oil scalp then style. More leave in, curl smoothie/creme then lots of eco gel (the red one with argan oil works best for my hair) and I finger coil every strand😉 I air dry mostly but if I'm trying to go to bed I'll diffuse til 80-90% dry or ill hop in my car and use the air/heat depending on weather. When I put my hair up I'll TWIST it up into a bun or 2 space buns. This elongates my hair so I can combat the shrinkage. This routine is without fail for my hair type as long as I got my red eco gel that is!😂

Please try multicultural curl cream by miss Jessie’s! Would really like your opinion, it’s one of my favorite curl creams.

I don't know why but the Shea moisture didn't work for me it caused my scalp to itch so much.... I was so sad because it is always recommended for curly hair. I am a curly hair momma and all of us have 3 different curl types. Love your channel.
