If you comment on one of my videos, and I want to respond, but I can't because you have replies disabled: I will delete your comment immediately. Just so you know. You can't come along, take a dump on the comments section, and then run away and not have your bullshit argument handed back to you. That's why your comment was deleted: because by having replies disabled you are telling us a) that you're not interested in discussion, and b) your argument is so weak that you're not prepared to defend it and therefore it doesn't deserve to be seen by anyone.
@CuthbertNibbles9 жыл бұрын
+NonStampCollector Really wish KZbin would get rid of that feature. If you post an opinion on the internet, _you're there to debate it._ This isn't a fridge magnet, everyone can see it. God is good, bible tells us repeatedly. It has to tell us that many times because any normal person would conclude a deranged psychopath. Notice superheroes don’t need to be identified as the “good” guys. Their actions speak for themselves.

I assume you're referring to all the great personal miracles out there.. Well, miracles are happenning without a sophisticated belief too and they're happenning within every religion equally likely. I wouldnt conclude from that, that a god did all that by showing he's there, having personal attention to each one of us. I would rather say they're just natural circumstances, which we don't understand enough yet. Much like an upside down rainbow or a sudden dragonfly in the middle of a city without a pond nearby. Rare but natural events and with a bit research not even rare, but rather short-lived ones and easy to overlook.

@agreer6483 Genuinely, how do you deal with the disturbing parts of the Bible, like the parts that condemn sinners to burn in hell for eternity? Personally, just that on its own proves that god is cruel rather than loving and caring, which also means that the bible is not inerrant. Could you imagine if you had kids and one of them was going through a rebellious faze because of some instability or trauma in their life and they told you in a fight that you aren't their true parent and they don't love you anymore? What do you think you would do? Would you condemn your child to hell to burn for all of eternity? Is there any crime that your child could commit that would cause you to even consider doing that? Anyone who can birth children knowing exactly which ones are doomed to be tortured for all of eternity (because of your own rules that you could change) and then proceeds to still create those children and follow through with damning them, and then spend an eternity listening their children's constant screams of pain and terror and their desperate pleas for mercy, all because they committed the crime of simply not believing that their creator existed (because of the lack of any concrete or reliable evidence) or cheating on their spouse, or stealing from a store, or being jealous of their peers is categorically the most cruel, psychopathic, and sadistic being that has ever existed and will ever exist.

Brilliant video, another great NSC scenario! I think the video encapsulates the problem theists have with morality being God-inspired... If that were the case, why don't we see scenarios like this much more often?! Why don't we have theists today presenting slavery as a badge of honour of their religious teachings instead of charity and loving thy neighbour as thyself etc? I mean both are ordered and justified in the bible, so who is deciding which one is the one we should hide and try to change, and which one we flash out to people on a regular basis? If it were truly something that is derived from divinity, scenarios like this would almost equal the number of scenarios that promote and are proud of the decent passages.

As a former theist, I think that the ability to twist minds to embrace the idea of a god who does the inexcusable things that the god of the Bible tries entirely on social conditioning. The conditioning that takes place when you're raised with it and the conditioning when a new person is brought into the fold. Surrounded by love and acceptance (though as with a new dating partner you're shielded from the ugly underbellies often found as with most human organizations) you're more inclined to eventually accept those dark parts of the Bible for the rationalizations that are given as a part of the more consequential and immediate support of the tribe. It's something with deep evolutionary roots. Imagine how much stronger it would have been in years and centuries past! When there were virtually no alternatives to escape to.

Somehow I missed this when it came out a few days ago, but I think it's my favorite of yours. It's brilliant. One thing I'd add is that often the good commands are overridden by the bad, but not the other way around. For example in most nations it's against the law to murder people, but it's usually legal to kill in self-defense. This is not a contradiction; killing in self-defense is an EXCEPTION to the GENERAL rule "don't kill people". Likewise, the Bible has a lot of GENERAL rules about "be nice to people!", and then a lot of SPECIFIC rules about who to kill and how and why. If you think the Bible is perfect, it's very strange to ignore the *specific* commands like stoning non-virgin brides to death in favor of "love your neighbor as yourself", as if the general rule over rid the specific. Of course I'm glad Christians do this since it's morally superior, but that's only if you're using your superior modern morality over that of by the anonymous men who authored the Bible.

"Fools will rejoice in their own ignorance." Why do you find joy in "proving" God doesn't exist?

I quote the Bible because God has been and always will be perfect. Why not look for wisdom from Him?

The big question still remains "why do you find joy in 'proving' God doesn't exist?"

Neither good nor evil are original to religion but it is religion that tries to justify evil as morally good over and over.

Just found your "channel". Love it! Using absurd to claims to refute themselves. There should be a Mark Twain prize for this sort of thing. That was one of Mark Twain's most underappreciated abilities; taking the stories and claims of religion and letting it make a fool of itself. Two thumbs up!
