Much confusion on the subject of sanctification, especially with the advent of "Holiness" movements long ago. Sanctification is an ongoing process. You didn't "get it all" when you came to Christ.
@T.RavikumarАй бұрын
We got it ALL @ salvation. Jesus Christ Himself has become the Sanctification of His children (1Cor1:30). & what is the HolySpirit-led walk of discipleship⁉️
@deebrown3832Ай бұрын
The comments so far are a bit divided. But I say, whether it be instant or a process, we ALL NEED to walk the walk of Holiness, and it is through the help of the Holy Spirit that empowers us. Every day, I learn and grow in Christ, dying to my flesh and Rejecting my old ways.

prayer to cast out demons: Prayer in the name of Jesus Christ for the destruction and the banishment from me forever, of all demons and dark beings and spirits and people and parasites that attack me and destroy my life. Prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, let all the possibilities by which beings send demons and curses at me be shut off and stopped forever

I don't think "sanctified" and "sanctification" are explicitly related. Sanctification does not lead to being sanctified like we understand it in english. "Sanctify" means set apart for holiness, and "sanctification" means growing in holiness. You can only partake in sanctification because you are sanctified, it does not sanctify you. You can only grow in holiness because you are set apart for holiness. If you were not set apart for holiness, then you could not grow in holiness. Overall the lesson is very good though, but just the terms are a little off, which skew the understanding. Christ sanctified you at the cross, and what Christ did then you can not add or take away by anything you do, He set you apart for holiness. Now that Christ sanctified you, you are then to grow in holiness, by all the good works the Lord has prepared for you to walk in. Sanctification is our walk. What you read about being fully sanctified is "glorification" done when Christ returns, but we are to grow in holiness as laid out before us by the Lord, to each as He sees fit. Life will be much better for you if you walk in those good works beside try to rebel against it, then we get trials and tribulations to grow us, much harsher then growing willingly.

When it says we don’t what he is like. But we know we shall be like him. It’s talking about being glorified. Not sanctified. He is the first fruit. No one knows what it’s like to be glorified.
@dank2476Ай бұрын
Another word for permanent sanctification is glorification which means we can only attain this stage after death.

This is what I don't understand about some Christian teaching: Why teach about how its necessary to overcome and stop the big sins - alcoholism, drug addiction, and sexual addiction, and in same breath teach and say we cannot choose what is right, do what's right, we always going to sin, its our nature to sin because of our flesh, no one can completely overcome (to stop sinning)??
@christislord137Ай бұрын
Because it's really about your heart posture. Do you really want to stop sinning? We can't, fully, this is true, and some addicts for example will die from their addiction, while believing in Christ. If in their heart they are truly wanting to stop and fighting it, although not always beating it, Christ knows our hearts. That's why we need to show love to others struggling, because we all do everyday to varying degrees. Peace ✝️

A sin is a sin period bc it’s disobedience and all sin has to become under the blood of Christ. Sanctification is a daily choice so I’ll leave with this last advice as a fellow believer. Look at your relationship with God like you would with your spouse that you don’t want to harm. Joy is great but for whatever reasons this day you may not be fond of them but you choose to by your actions and not your FEELINGS to do right by them. Not only is that sanctification but it’s true love.
@seyway189Ай бұрын
@@christislord137 struggling with sin is not an excuse or lesson to preach and teach that we cannot fully overcome sin. Though some struggle with sin, Christ is merciful and yes, we must encourage them; however, some do overcome, and this is the power of Christ forgiveness in us to completely heal, and turn us away from sin.
@christislord137Ай бұрын
@@seyway189 No, that's a lie. You and no one else on earth can become sinless while you're on earth living in a dying, corrupted body.
@christislord137Ай бұрын
@@bobfisher-zd2lt and no one loves perfectly like Christ did. It's not possible. Yeah you want to treat your spouse like Christ did the church, but inevitably, you will argue, get angry, say things you shouldn't, do something irresponsible, etc. You can and will sin less, but you're not sinless. No one said any sin is not sin, I don't get that statement? Sin is not good by any means, but God is just and rich in mercy. His mercies are new every morning. Why? Because we sin and we depend upon His mercy
@AbrahamRosenberg-p1lАй бұрын
Hey, I’ve been wondering-does the concept of being sanctified only apply to Jewish people, especially since we have the 10 commandments and the 613 mitzvot to follow? What are your thoughts on that? Was this meant for Gentiles?
@T.RavikumarАй бұрын
NO! Every man was predestined to be set-apart in Christ (the Tree of Life) before creation [Eph1:4], until man chose to come away to live by himself. Those who choose to acknowledge [Mat10:32] & accept Jesus are adopted as His children [Jn1:12], set-apart in Him. God HAS FOREVER perfected & set-apart His children in Christ, @ Salvation [1Cor6:11]. Infact Jesus Christ has become the SANCTIFICATION (set-apartness) of the believer [1Cor1:30, Jn17:19]. There's nothing called progressive sanctification, there's only HolySpirit-led walk of discipleship. The end GLORIFICATION into the image of Christ, of the believer, will happen @ His coming.
