Great video Tom. Very on point with respect to pathology, common symptoms and what patients can do to help themselves.

As someone who had both shoulders reconstructed I agree with everything you are saying. Great video. Hardest thing is to take it easy and not go to far into pain with the exercises. Better one step forward every day than three steps forward then four steps back cos you over did it. Good luck to all of us as we rehab our bodies! ☺️🌟🙏💪

Just find out yesterday I’ve had 2 tears in my bicep for about 7-10 years. I had my shoulder recon in 1999 and just assumed I was heading back down that road again after years of sports and niggling injuries. Your videos are great! Knowing I can avoid surgery I’m super excited! You’re very well spoken and it’s crazy hearing the lack of movement due to this injury. It’s basically been a part of my life for so long I just got used to it. I feel like I have a fresh start again! 😁

How many reps do you do for all the band stuff you've shown in this video & your part one video? I've been doing one set of each for 10 reps. Is that enough? Or should I do more / eventually build up to more? Numbers help guide me better! (also thank you so much -- even just two days of your rehab has helped me loaaaads)
@physiorehab Жыл бұрын
Probably better to aim for around 3 sets of 8-12 reps reps depending on the band you have and the conditioning you have got

Need some vids on protection to avoid these issues. I have no pain at the moment, but my bicep tendon does click and pop in and out of the groove. So need ways to prevent it getting sore and irritated in the future.

Can’t raise my arm all the way up. Mainly feeling pain along front and then through rear. Feel like it’s the biceps tendon. Putting my hand into that power band position is impossible. Severe cramping feeling agh.

Hi - great video! It's super helpful. Random question, I'm curious how long you should wait before you start trying these exercises/stretches? I got bicep tendonitis 6-months ago, had an Ortho refer me to get a cortisone injection w/ ultrasound 3 months ago and have been dealing with this constant pain sense. Earlier this after doing random shoulder rehab exercises, it started hurting a ton. I've done nothing now for 3 days, 2 days worth of Ibuprofen, 4 times day of icing and friction massage. Basically was planning on waiting a week or two for pain to disappear and then start your exercises but curious if you've got any ideas. Can't go to doctor/physio given the current virus problems...

Hello thank you for the video. Can i ask how many times per its ideal to do those exercices from part 1 and part 2 and not over use it and not get it worse once again. Thank you very much
@physiorehab4 жыл бұрын
Perhaps around 3 times per week. Start with 2-3 sets x 10-12 reps each session

Leaning towards surgery. Resect long head insertion and then tenodese into distal humerus. My ortho says simple 20 minute surgery with very, very high success rate. I’m 65, but was king of the pull-ups when younger- 25 strict. Tried to restart them about a year ago and lots of paddle boarding when supraspinatus tear and biceps issues. Thoughts?
@physiorehab3 жыл бұрын
If the long head is split the a tenodesis might be of value, or if you have a SLAP tear in the labral at the biceps anchor. But I would avoid pull ups at present and stick to rows or pull downs

Do you need to be pain free before you start the light eccentric loading? Have the same issue as you it sounds like...split supraspinatus and biceps tendon. Did yours heal? I’ve been dealing with it for over 2 years now and just starting to make some progress now that I’ve given it some rest and been working with a PT.

You can start light as long as it gets better not worse!

Before moving to TRX eccentric row, would you test concentric & eccentric rows with a bar/door frame (1st exercise) so you know you are strong enough to progress? Or just scrap all concentrics and stick to the only eccentrics? Thanks
@physiorehab4 жыл бұрын
I think give it a go and see if it’s ok. You can always have the body position very upright to reduce load
