I've now had both shoulders repaired - the Right cuff and lh bicep and the Left lh bicep - this is far and away the clearest and best overview of what is involved when dealing with lh bicep tendon surgical options. A must watch for anyone who wants a basic understanding when considering surgery. My right shoulder is 150% since surgery 5 years ago - which allows full training including butterfly in the pool. Hopefully last week's Left bicep repair will be as successful - both were tenodesis.

Hi, I'm not sure if you're still reading this as it's over 2 years old. However, I had golfer's elbow in my left arm (which I've had for probably 18 months now) and after I believe doing some very high sets on some biceps work in the gym, I have developed biceps tendonitis also. I had it for about 2 weeks then it went... now about a month later, it's back again. Basically, I feel a dull ache a lot of the time around my shoulder and if I use my left arm, I get a really bad aching depending on how strenuous the activity - sometimes not even curling the arm, just gripping something tight... it would ache badly for about half an hour and then subside, usually with ibuprofen. When the pain is bad, it feels like my whole arm is in pain from the shoulder down to my wrist, specifically in the biceps region, but quite deep inside. If I hold my arm out, with a slight bend an unsupported, it tremors and shakes really bad. I have free shoulder movement (my shoulders are very flexible anyway) but no real pain moving my arm around the shoulder joint. Does this sound like biceps tendonitis and what would you recommend? Thank you.

I had shoulder surgery going on 3 months ago, but the pain is NOT going away, I've been in PT since surgery to get movement back, I am able to move the arm, but can't itch my own back anymore, can't lift anything heavier then a water bottle, and EVERY time I move left arm I can hear AND FEEL a snapping, think of the noise your knuckles make when you crack them...it's painful and has started triggering BAD charlie horses in the left bicep, pt isn't doing really anything other then keeping what small movement I do have from getting worse, pain is getting unbearable, been "living" off of Tylenol and Tums, due to the pain causing sick stomach, Dr FINALLY ordered a CT scan, was just wondering what you think it might be....

I was do kettlebell.,I been hurting for couple of months.some nights I can’t sleep so I get out of bed and put ice on it and take Advil..sometimes when my arm is bend and I have pain lasts until I can get my arm straight, hurts so bad until I can get it to go straight I nearly scream. With high cases of covid not sure if I should deal with it like I have been and just putting ice on it.or just what any suggestions would be great will be turning 54,

I just had surgery they repaired the slap tendon removed a cyst but there was no more long head tendon. What will my mobility be like
@orion32672 жыл бұрын
How's it after surgery? Does you're long head part of your bicep hang low? I'm hearing mobility will be mostly normalish after recovery. Of course, that depends on the person and if they're doing what their Dr and PT tells them to. I fell and dislocated my R shoulder. I have a rotator cuff tear, long tendon tear and labrum tear. My Dr is doing the tenotomy, repairing the rotator cuff and cleaning up the labrum area. I guess I'm too old, 52, to do the tenodesis, plus I'm not very physical. The " popeye " effect may not effect everyone the same way. Hopefully, mine doesn't sag down too much.

Just came back from Surgeon visit. I am athletic 60 yo (5-7 180 - run, kayak, some lifting, competition shooter, etc.) -- have distal biceps tear last week -- NOT clean off bone -- no MRI taken so don't know if its 50% tear or more.. Surgeon told me I am too old for the surgery and does not recommend fixing? WTH? He says if someone is pushing 40 he says: don't do the procedure. Anyone have thoughts on this? Go for second opinion? Question cross-posted for an answer.
@andrewsins37076 жыл бұрын
Try to fix your posture. Stretch your lats. Chest and strengthen rotator cuff
@turtleescape6 жыл бұрын
I know this is a little late. But, I would go for a second opinion if you are still having issues. I am in my mid 40s and my doctor was a little reluctant to do the repair. But, after discussing life style he agreed to do the surgery. He did say the older you are the less likely the repair will be successful. I am six weeks out of surgery ( tenodesis, labrum and rotator cuff ) recovering well. If it were me I would push to have it repaired.
