As often happens with drivers in advanced old age, my dad refused to give up the car keys, despite obvious cognitive decline and multiple minor accidents. Eventually, the state of FL (which is very lenient toward senior citizen drivers) refused to renew his drivers license. Then sympathetic police officers would even drive him home when he was caught driving without a license. Ultimately, his escapades were brought to an abrupt end when he drove in reverse through the wall of a restaurant, totaling the car and landing him in serious legal difficulties. I don't want Joe Biden's stubborn and selfish refusal to acknowledge reality to be the metaphorical demolition of our country's restaurant wall, and it angers me to see the democratic party acting like the indulgent police officers who didn't want to enforce the law with my dad because of his age.

In my opinion, the Democrats should have QUICKLY and QUIETLY told Mr. Biden to step down behind closed doors, even forcibly removing him if necessary. During this period they would have had more than sufficient time to select another viable candidate from within their own ranks.
