Yeah, I am not sure if that Tram Line rework/addition really does anything. You essentially just moved the problem to a separate track, trams in the same direction will still block each other because they still stop on what is essentially one track. If you want to easing up the situation, you might want to split each direction on the two tracks you added. Though this is all so cramped in there, they might still end up blocking each other, if not make the situation worse due to the large number of vehicles coming in and out through what is effectively just one track
@ptterz
@ptterz 3 жыл бұрын
I was just gonna comment on this. Now there is four tracks but only two are used. Maybe those CW and CCW going lines could use that new track and the other lines the original track. I also think you can place those stops at the same segment, it shouldn't cause too many issues now that there is more tracks.
@ruiguilhas8686

I agree I think the best way to do it would be to build like a small grid hub so all trams enter same side drive down "their personal track" and then meetup in the main track and leave

@@ruiguilhas8686 Well, there is four lines at the moment. The one going to industrial area could be redirected elsewhere and not come all the way up to Uni. As long as it shares stops with the other line, people can easily transfer from one to another. With this redirection the current tracks would be enough for three lines because only one of them needs stops to both directions.

Biffa, your trams are set in pairs so i have made a suggestion to help the run time based on the the Clock wise and Counter Clock wise design you have. Suggestion to place both lines towards the end of the transportation station to allow for additional queuing of trams to buffer without blocking road. Id place the tram line with the most trams, on its own line in anticipation of more frequent tram stops. B line, Counter Clock wise. ( with most trams.) A counter clock wise space. C counter clock wise. due to one tramline being on the interior line, you'll have additional space for expansion of your tram network. once again Id move each stop to its own nod, keeping the stops as close to the exit as reasonable to ensure a space for your trams to queue or wait. Road open stop, ----> open stop ----> B Clock wise Stop ----> Road.

11:30 If you don't use the inner rails, your added track is useless. You want each line to have its own pair of rails to relieve traffic congestion. Hope that, helps. Love your challenge attitude. Keep it up, Biffa. .oO(Time for some tea, now.)
@mcwolfbeast
@mcwolfbeast 3 жыл бұрын
Exactly what I was thinking! The whole point of doubling up the tram lines to get the trams more space in that mini hub was to use the extra tracks with more stops (a multi-track "station" if you will) but by keeping everything on the outside tracks, you're not using the added space, which is why the trams are queueing up in the streets (especially by adding a 5th line through there).
@missionaccomplished5252
@missionaccomplished5252 3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely agree. The trams will continue to back-up since they are all waiting for the same pair of lines. If they were mixed-and-matched (really having its own) with one line going left to right on the top and another going on the bottom set it would prevent these backups.

I think the tram line you created the CCW loop for already had a CCW loop/a tram line mirroring the route the other way. Just two extra lones are there that always lay empty. You should spilt the routes between all four lines to reduce crowding.

If you ensure good service provision in the non-specialised industrial area, including parks (plazas are best as they lack trees, so pollution doesn't change the aesthetic), medical access and transport, as well as fire and police, the factories will upgrade, producing more goods and reducing pollution as they upgrade.

Biffa, if you're importing goods from somewhere else in order to make the city green, what you're doing is displacing pollution to somewhere else that you have no control over, plus the pollution of transit. If you create an industrial zone in your city, you can minimize pollution with "Filter Industrial Waste," which is the most green option there is. Otherwise your goods are creating the same pollution as normal, just elsewhere. Just an argument for keeping the industrial zone in-county.

Thanks for getting to the Police Academy. Now that you have seen the size of these buildings, I would suggest planning 3 or so more University extensions around the city. Maybe plan them out as each of the main faculty buildings are huge. Through in a couple dorms, a nice central park, cafeteria etc. Maybe setup a metro/monorail/train between each of the faculty campuses. If you want to play as green as possible, I would suggest paying attention to the pollution levels of each of the builds. Sometimes you can't get away with no pollution, other times you need to use level 1 or 2 industry buildings instead of the max level builds. Especially in agriculture, the simple cattle farms have no pollution, while the milking parlor and slaughter house have a bit of pollution. Loving this vanilla city though. the idea to split the tram hub on two tracks is great, BUT right now the way you set it up you dont get a benefit out of it. That way you don’t need to overlap lines and the trams work more efficiently. I’d also suggest you made a mirrored, counterclockwise bus line from your transit hub, that could also help to spread the users between the lines.

The key to good traffic in vanilla is connectivity (and public transport). The new leisure area could use more connections (and more public transport options) so that not all visitors are funneled through two roads. Basically, you have to give people several options so that they can choose the route that is closest to where they are travelling from, and thus they naturally spread out. Vanilla requires more planning since it is much more difficult to fix a bad traffic situation once it appears. Usually, the only good way of fixing bad traffic is to add more connections, which can get awkward if you haven't planned for it.

Very good improvements to the railroad connection The other side could use it as well... The sport complex deserved more buildings. Food could be moved to the blocks closest to the station, so that you could have a bit more parking. Curling, followed by tea could be really popular in Antarteaca. More lanes would be needed. Those final quays didn't seem necessary, the area could use more forestry primary and housing, just for the nice looks.

Hey Biffa, thanks for the new video. Yeah, vanilla-play is diffrent than modded-play. ;) In this video you have set up a second tram-line going anticlockwise. I'm looking forward for your next video and I'm very interested in the next expansions.

Biffa: "This has taken so long to do" Me: Welcome to vanilla. I practiced tunneling railway lines under feeder roads for 10 hours before whacking down 2hrs worth of earthworks-n-infrastructure all for a crossing that covers less space than a coal fired power plant. Tonight I'm going to redo it all because OCD and mods are for artists not artisans.

You don't need to make the car parks historical as they are specialist commercial and so are permanently level 3. Also, for length of car parking you probably want the 2x4 versions rather than the 2x2 (unless you want exclusively electric vehicle parking slots). Oh, and the football question: presumably Nuno's fault... ;o) Love the new station and football area though, most excellent! Tech college starting to look really nice too. Finally caught up again and now back to inpatient delayed discharges again. My fun never ceases.

21:00 just fyi you can put fences along the road to remove the zoning. You do also need to leave the fence there otherwise it will revert

I don't understand the tram line fix. He added two more parallel lines for stops, then didn't use half of them - net result, same as before. Surely distributing the lines between all four would make more sense? Also paths to the moved stops, otherwise people have to walk down the lines?

I'm not a vanilla fan but I love your new city - especially that you introduce own rail lines that early. Tram issues 12:34 Here is the error - Line 3 was not shown until now that's why you copied it by setting up line 5 because you wanted to do both directions of your loop line - but you already had that line. 10:24 The new tram tracks are a good idea but you hesitate to let tram cross one another which I understand. If you mirror the new tracks on the other side of the old tracks and make both new tracks one-way you can have parallel stops.

20:45 if you put a fence or footpath along the main road to remove zoning it should allow full zoning on the back road

4:25 Plopping down buildings to the university doesn't increase the number of students you have Biffa. It increases the capacity and Attractiveness, which results in it that more students will eventually come. That police academy just increased the max number of students from 1100 to 2100!

It'd be nice if City Skylines had an option for ecco industrial as it does with self suffient housing or buying local for housing an commercial stuff. Places that refurbish used sofas or use recycled plastics or make wooden disposable goods or traditional crafts that don't produce hazardous waste etc

1) When you are having problems with trucks blocking roads, change the road to a 4 or 6 lane bus road. Traffic will stay out of the outside lane unless it needs to stop or turn. 2) You haven’t fixed the trams. All the westbound teams are still backed up behind each other, just on the new line. You need to keep some of them on the new and some on the old. Or you can have east/west entrance and exit tracks, and north/south connecting tracks for each set of stops. Not sure how this will display going from mobile to computer, but something like this: ============= \\ \\ \\ \\ ===============

Hey Biffa, Couple of things: 1. Are you able to increase your music volume during your fast forwards in your video? Seems to be quite soft and not as loud as you have it for New Tealand. 2. Maybe for your tram hub, you could just separate the lines rather than making one line one way... what you did, didnt make much of a difference... the same amount of pile up will happen. Love your work Biffs! :)

One tip for the silver needle timber industry: you shouldn't have both the forest industry from the dlc and zoned forest industri from the vanilla game. Because of that you import a lot of wood from the zoned industry and that makes you lose a lot of money. I went from 1500 profit to like 10000. Btw I love all of your cities

Add fishing. Two ordinary pickup fish places per marketplace will add noise but not pollution and produce goods. There is also an industry for fish to go to, but that adds pollution but gives a lot more goods to play with.

I think it might be worth having a tram stop on the main road rather than in Transportea Heights, especially if it's just for the lines going through the area rather than servicing the residential area nearby
