I am very aware of how this rule in Euro hurt NEW against PSG in CL where a ball was shot and deflected on a NEW defenders arm in perfect natural position and penalty was given PSG. This rule is to prevent those situations and I really hope this rule will be implemented in Euro also. Players cant cut of their arms in a split of a second, simple as that.

Doesn’t work in law. It’s virtually impossible to write a law where everybody is happy. Spurs were unlucky - that’s all it is. A week earlier a different hand ball rule took a goal from Newcastle. Nothing Bruno could have done about a player blasting a ball off his elbow, but those are the rules.

If the next touch of the ball after the hand ends up in the back of the net its a foul, the ball was touched another 3 times before it hit the back of the net. So the rules state it wasnt intent it had more than 1 touch after the hand its a goal... only prob I can see is the leagues referees are so inconsistent it creates hassel every time there's an iffy decision right or wrong

I think everyone forgets that there was a campaign to change the handball rule because of these instances where it’s completely accidental and there’s no intent involved probably because of these instances where amount of goals getting overturned through the rule. I think the rule itself has been over complicated where it doesn’t need so much mental gymnastics to work out if it’s deliberate, accidental, phase one or two etc. if it’s intentional it’s deliberate and and a foul. if there’s no intent and their hand is in a natural position and it strikes the hand play on. It doesn’t need to be complicated
