Another great video Andy, as for stoozing its great I have spent 3k from my Barclaycard rewards via curve to top up the monese bank account and then I have transferred it back to Barclays rainy day savings account. This should trigger the cashback on the credit card as well as the interest, and the best part is using there money against them. I also topped up my chip account for the remainder 2k via curve via Barclaycard rewards and then transferred the money from chip back to the savings account (you are limited to £500 top-up's to chip via apple pay) to spend the credit card money, I done this 4 times in 5 minutes with no issues its a bit long but it should make around £33 per month. 😀👍

You can also use nectar points at Esso petrol station. trade 300 for 5p off every liter of fuel

Currently doing the Amex Platinum and this change will mean I loose £78 just in the welcome bonus which is a huge bummer, however fortunately I’ve managed to get 3x 24,000 points from boosted referrals that I’ve converted already, so still well in the money.

@@comfortzone5618 Yeah although credit cards are not great in this country, still definitely worth using and as long as you’re persistent you can rack up some decent money. Started really going for it late 2020 and haven’t spend anything I wouldn’t have already.

Bro can you please tell me why amex benefits are so bad for uk gold and platinum cards compared to us. I mean their statement credit back alone is over $1500 against fee of $695. And we don't even have chase and capital one cards to compare to amex. 😭😭😭😭😭

It’s so, so sad isn’t it? The points/cash back benefits of even the least impressive no-annual-fee US rewards card blows even the UK Amex Platinum out of the water. I’m left astounded that the UK Gold and Plat both have foreign transaction fees! That’s wild. Basically, it’s because UK credit card processing fees are capped. The fees in the US are much higher, which affords US banks the ability to offer more incentives (% cash back/travel benefits) than just about anywhere else in the world. Someone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong!

I’d say because the UK landscape when it comes to credit cards is a wasteland in the hands of a few players. So Amex can get away with offering very little knowing that they would still be above everyone else...

If the avios to nectar conversion is being reduced, would it be worth switching them to nectar before the deadline then back to avios after? Or is it devalued on both ends?

Any points you swap now to nectar will swap back at the same rate. But after 16th nov, you’ll lose value in the points doing that

Your bank should be your first stop. Capital one could be your second stop. Vanquis could be the third stop, but keep in mind they will sell your data and opting out will require a letter. If you pay your card balance in full, all cards are the same. You can also use sites like money and money supermarket to check your eligibility in bulk. Remember however that customer service in the uk is sh*t all across the board.
