You had a great day out there in those conditions. Nice spots! I went out a few days ago in the afternoon and got skunked. Not even a bite. I tried throwing a jig too. First time in a while that I didn’t catch anything. Today was a little better. Caught a 16 inch spot and 19.5 inch largemouth. I hooked into a big largemouth earlier in the morning on topwater but he jumped about 15 feet away from my kayak and tossed the lure. It was heartbreaking but that’s fishing. I’ll be heading out in the morning to try my luck again. Thanks again for the video. Good to see you catching some quality bass!

I don't even like to hear about the "skunk". I think maybe there are signs that the fishing is getting better.

Nice catches! Not only for tough conditions, but any day. Jig is working for you.

Thanks! The old jig never lets me down.

Nice vid, Dana. That was some great footage on those turkeys as well! Yep, I hate it when the weatherman screws up and says no rain, and you get that heavy misting crap. Lol.

Thanks Mike! I really enjoyed watching those birds.

One thing I've noticed about you and fishing a jig or the roach.... you don't swing and miss haha.... your hook sets are spot on! VERY rarely do you MISS!

I get comments every once in awhile saying that I set the hook too hard, which I find funny. There is a reason I stick them. I am very meticulous about how I set the hook.

That was a good day for big bass plus the little mutant one!

Nice video. Had to share it with my son. He’ll really enjoy the turkeys.

Thanks! I counted over 20 birds on that bluff and if I'm not mistaken, they were all Tom's. That seemed a little odd. I spent a good 25 minutes just watching them, and I was able to get really close. They didn't seem to mind that I was there. I love catching the fish, but I was more excited by getting that footage that day.

Since I started watching your channel, I've started catching fish. I bought all of the lures you recommend and try to mimic your retrieve on each of them. However, I'm limited since I fish out of Cobalt R3. I'm curious if you are willing to recommend a center console fishing boat that is comfortable for the wife, can get close to the shore and deep into coves... and fish open water for stripers. I'm two years from retiring and want to spend more time on Lanier. I sincerely appreciate your efforts. Your channel is the best I've seen.

Thanks for watching! I'm glad my videos have helped you catch fish, that is why I do it. I don't have a recommendation for a center console, I don't like them personally. I would always choose a bass boat. If you are going to be dragging live bait, a center console might be ok, but for casting I would go with a bass boat.

Great bass. I am heading out tomorrow to try a catch a few. I have seen a couple of videos that stripers are showing up at Clarks Bridge.

It depends on the day up at Clarks Bridge. There are a few smaller Stripers that show up on certain days, but other days it's a ghost town.

Hey Dana, are you using a hair jig, bucktail jig or silicone jig? Can't wait to get back up there. Here in Middle Georgia it's tough fishing in the pfa's!
@FCPFishing26 күн бұрын
I show the jig in the video, but it's a bass jig with a silicone skirt. I did a video showing how I make them, if you want to look on my channel. I use buck tails a lot too, especially when the water gets cooler.

I caught a 7lb largemouth in the creek you called Large mouth country a couple days ago.

That doesn't surprise me. Congratulations! That is one of the many good Largemouth creeks in the lake.
