If you dont use those flex plate torque plates, it can shear the center of the flex plate. Had it happen to a couple of nissans.

The reason they use those spacers on the back of the crank is that Toyota uses the same flex plate on a whole range of motors that need different flex plate offsets due to bellhousings and startmotors.

Well, you gonna either hate or love the newer engine designs. As on diesel the throttle valve is only there "for emergency" and "engine off" but not used for driving anymore (always open throttle). rpm / mixture only controlled by cam/valve and fuel timing. because less pressure loss so more fuel efficient.

Being mechanical engineer and blueprinting and machining everything virtually in engines clearances right on spec etc Al is a great mechanic fabricator wondering if he is even a engineer for a barra build im doing when i get time wonder if i can get Al to make up my exhaust turbo manifold and intake he does quality work and his pattern maker mate has a art that is dying my grandad was a pattern maker for Holden at Elizabeth here in adelaide
