I once met Stuart when he played a gig on the balcony of Virgin records megastore in Edinburgh. A unique talent, extremely kind and greatly missed but his music lives on forever!

I never saw Big Country perform with backup singers before. And the only time I saw the keyboards guy was when they performed in Berlin. Good sound.

Have never come across a negative comment about Stuart on line, that is exceptional in itself. Seems to have been a really decent man. Such a musical talent. Left us way too soon. God bless.
@mustangsally10583 жыл бұрын
And I doubt you ever will see a negative comment about him. He was indeed human like the rest of us he just had many more demons than most. I'm so proud of him for staying in life as long as he did. It's not easy, have been there all my life too and it's a constant battle trying to keep the depression from taking you out. Will always miss him and always keep him closest to my heart. I need him to remind me of the horrific pain that others go through when they loose you. It's the only thing that has kept me in this world.

The truth is its my generations fault (im 28). You always see in the comments about camera phones at concerts and how crowds just arnt the same. but it really is true the disconnect we have with being in the moment is sad. This video is amazing proof. Moscow 1988 its clear people starved for music and the outside world. People who were oppressed finally getting to have a night of great music and fun. living more in the moment more than anyone my age might ever.

The wisdom of the lyrics belie the age of the musicians. The band mates would have been between the ages of 23 and 27 at the time the song was recorded. A beautiful ballad.

I understand I'm in the minority on this but I don't mind the backup singers. The harmonies sound nice when Stuart sings around them during the break down. It's the damn synth I could leave behind. I mean really... does it seem like his noodling fits with the band?
