My self confidence was nowhere to be found when I dated him and still somehow he managed to lower it even more. The only time it was an okay relationship was when he first begged me to take him back every time he broke up with me. I lost count how many times he broke up with. The last time he did though I was done. I deleted his number and blocked him on everything. I decided that day I was going to put myself first. I haven’t spoke to him since. Those types of relationships are so draining in every way possible. There are ppl out there that prey on ppl with no self confidence and who have been in abusive relationships before them. I think big Ed is one of those ppl. I hope Liz realizes like I did and just cuts Ed off completely. I hope it happens sooner rather than later for her sake and her daughters. Damn, Leo, really hit hard with the advice at 18:00. I feel most content when i'm with a partner that allows me to relax and supports me when they can. Liz definitely needs to do better- we all do if we're not happy with where we're at in our lives! ♡

They are in the most non-committed relationship I have ever seen. There is no sense of security and no sense of togetherness when your first instinct is to walk away from your partner instead of working things out then getting back with them after distance is created where you eventually miss them. Then, only to hate their presence once it becomes mundane like life usually is. When you accept behaviours, you show people how to treat you and this is why you have broken up ten times. I wish them both the best but what a trainwreck.

@Roman_Adrian Жыл бұрын
My ex would do the same. Everytime I needed to talk about something important, my feelings or whatever; they would say some serious FINALIZING words. Call me an ass or stubborn or whatever, cuz we're butting heads but they'd go right for the jugular EVERYTIME "to win"; without even realizing that they're ending a relationship.

did you know, that majority of women, who came to shelter after abusive relationship, end up going back to the abuser? The reason is the emotional rollercoaster, it makes you feel alive. All the emotions going up and down. Life can feel very dull afterwards so they go back to it
@branch7628 Жыл бұрын
Yup you give a girl everything she wants and that becomes boring so they will leave you
@HaHaHaLMFAOtv Жыл бұрын
@@branch7628 I’m talking about abusive relationships here. It takes certain personality. Someone else would have walked long time ago but some would be more easily trapped. I think if a woman truly loves she won’t leave because she gets everything. Quite the contrary

If Liz cuts out alcohol, she will regain some of her lost sanity and think better about her life, her daughter, and her future. I think alcohol has caused her emotional instability and she always cries or is about to cry.

ok I can sorta understand why liz just can't leave ed. I was in a similar situation as her, my ex cheated on me but I went back to him. This happened a total of 3 times on separate occasions over the course of 2 years of dating. Guys like Ed have a way of twisting their way back, know our soft spots and bc I didn't have a support system at all back then (I got kicked out of my house and was just starting full time work) I went back to him bc I felt that he was all I had and needed. He was all I knew. I didn't even know who I was when I finally and truly got out of that relationship. I was so lost and no longer knew how to be on my own that I had to see a Dr and was diagnosed with GAD and depression. Maybe liz's situation isn't exactly the same as mine, but I get how she feels. Please don't blame liz, yes it's her fault too but somebody really needs to help her. Not people from NDF but like legit people. People whom she'd truly and wholeheartedly would listen to (her daughter, grandparents or maybe even Ed's mom). Please she really needs to get help.

The amount of joy and relief I felt when she said it was actually over this time alongside Leo's joy was so nice for those brief few seconds 😭😭 , I feel like good advice the women should have said to Liz is it's easy to say I'm upset I'm going to leave, the really hard part is the days and weeks after you leave the show, feel free to call us anytime you feel like you're caving. Or she should have a created a support system w somebody but Ed had cut her off from her friends and everything making it easy to trap her again. She truly needs a physical barrier and every form of blocking so there's no possible way to contact

I needed to hear this one, and despite much of the advice been unfortunately impractical when you have small kids together, it's still some advice that I think could help me get out and stay out for good this time. It still hurts; no matter how small and humiliated and broken I feel after everything he's put us through, he still remains just what Leo described as the real thing - the one that I don't know if I can live without. I considered myself fickle, just not built for long term commitments. Then he came along and it's ten years and a child, smiling for our little one and lying about why daddy wasn't there again until I could break down and sob without him seeing his mother so broken. Being sent the pictures of his affair with an 18year old escort, and I wonder how and what my life is that it still feels so impossible without him in it. I know he has no love or respect for me, and my heart breaks even more for my sweet-hearted little boy whose hero is daddy; for the day I can't shield him from it anymore - enough that it's the only thing keeping me from driving off a bridge, that he needs me - but in all fairness, I obviously I lost all that 'respect' stuff for myself a long time ago, so it's hard to even blame him for that. Sorry mate, didn't mean to turn your post into my personal therapy couch; just wanted to tell you that I really did get something I _badly_ needed from your advice to Liz in all this. Thanks.

That’s exactly what I tell my bf’s friends gf’s, they always complain to each other about their boyfriends but never talk about their issues together. Like talking to each other isn’t gonna solve your relationships problems. TALK. TO. YOUR. PARTNER. NOT. YOUR. PARTNERS. FRIENDS. GIRLFRIENDS.

It's definitely for the best that Liz's ex has custody of her daughter. On top of how TLC would absolutely ruin that child, Liz herself has accused Ed of being a predator, which was probably said out of spite, but it says a lot.
