In terms of a relationship, I think it matters. Some people don't care, others do. I think sexual orientation falls into the same category as things like kinks. It's not something you'd talk about on the first date, but eventually, you should talk about it to make sure your ideas are compatible. Personally, I wanna know if, for example, the guy I'm dating is into roleplay or BDSM or something because it WILL come up later in a long term relationship. Same thing with same-sex attraction.
