Ilya Ilyin, the only sportsman who claps after his own performance. That's how good he is.

***** The Bulgarian lifter you are talking about is Alan Tsagaev. He almost made 243kg in the Vancouver World Championships in 2003. Had he competed for a team that was better endorsed than Bulgaria was at the time, that wasn't constantly getting caught for drugs, he would've did more.

I hope Ilya breaks 200kg on the snatch, at least in training like a lot of the elite 105kg lifters. I know Torokhtiy's done 200kg on the snatch and 240kg in the clean and jerk. I wonder how much improvement he's showing and if he's competing at the World's this year.

why does he put the smaller weights on the outside of the bar? rather then have all the plates up to each other
@unnfairify9 жыл бұрын
i guess because the smaller weight is lighter than the clip
@48thurkdisl989 жыл бұрын
Because it's easier to just stick them on there and they're designed to be used that way, even in competition. The first time I saw them use the small plates outside of the collars in competition was in about 2007, I believe. All the major barbell manufacturers have gone over to that system now.

it's obvious that there is at least 236, but they say that it's 241, that means that the last small plates are 0,5 kg and others are 2.5 and 5 kg p.s. Oh sorry snatch! misred..
@phirephaxL9 жыл бұрын
Stanislav Stepanov 8 reds is 220kg. The small white plates are 5kg each = 10kg. The small red plates are 2.5kg each = 5kg. There are smaller white plates after the small red plates which is 0.5kg each = 1. The 2 clips are 2.5kg each = 5kg. 220+10+5+1+5= 241kg.
