Love the creativity with the dimension hopping. Honestly each tip is really helpful as you really gotta be consistent with everything that goes into making and presenting a video and not just focus on one thing. Didn’t really think of the last advice so might go back in doing that just for practice on thumbnails.

Gap filling is a definite downfall for me. I've recently decided to focus on content I really want to make whenever it happens, rather than trying to put something out every week. Might not be good for the algorithm, but it's good for me and hopefully my community. Thank you for the not only entertaining, but inspirational video! 😃

I swear you put SO much time and effort into your videos it is really remarkable. And to know you're doing this by yourself - editing, shooting, writing, etc. It's inspiring. The easter egg HERE - 3:35! The way I LAUGHED. I love both you guys. It gets super frustrating to see how videos like this aren't instant viral successes and why you don't have a bazillion subscribers by now. But in due time I know it will happen. Thanks for your work! It has inspired me to even step outside of the box and get creative. And I feel like I learn so much from each of your videos.

Hi Ed, I paused the video at 3:24 and read your INTRO card Easter egg about pausing the video. If this isn't your actual planning document, could you please do a video showing your official video planning document, the way you structure it and the steps you take at the most important stage of the video: the planning? Your videos are so worthwhile because it's clear you dedicate so much in the planning stage- and I know it's not just me who would benefit from seeing how this is broken down!

This is exactly what I needed to see right now. In the last few weeks I've been plagued with pc issues so editing literally couldn't happen, and since I'm back well.. The content I was making isn't feasible or since I focus on gaming, the game I primarily made content for just isn't interesting any more, been in a massive slump as over the October period I saw a massive spike in my channel and since then it's just been watching nothing happening. Thanks man.

I always love your unique spin to your videos. I think the most underrated advice is to not rush out videos simply to adhere to a strict schedule. Rushing out videos that need more time for refinement leads to way more harm than good in many cases. Just a couple of more days of additional editing and re-records can make a world of difference.

After watching this though I decided to expand my goal because the question that's been on my mind for a while now is, what next? I agree with goal setting. Most frustrations come from having short-term peaks & not hitting monetization goals because it's tempting to see it as the most important first goal. Naturally, it's sort of like your first ROI but most channels should aspire for their long-term vision (products/services to sell, partnerships, community building, etc) I am currently putting effort in my channel that takes time away from other business goals. But like you say, it's part of a long-term plan. Eventually, I can re-invest my YT channel into my main business. Until then, gotta accept the tough grind. I just hit 4k watch hours but I'm easily still 2 months away from 1k subs... Even though I THOUGHT 100% sure I will be monetized... like a month ago! I hit that one mini spike after my first month on YT, then everything went fairly flat again. You gotta keep at it even in the weeks and months when it seems extremely flat. Compound effects are real but take time. Don't get disappointed and lose motivation when you hit bad months. I could literally have one of my videos get picked up by the algorithm tomorrow and hit my 1k sub goal in a week instead of in 2 months.

Interesting video Ed. I’m feeling this after 3 years on this channel getting 3k per video (on average). I’m burnt out. Interestingly I did a gap filler video a year ago. I hadn’t posted in a week so thought I need to film and upload something. Great video! I will re-thumbnail and re-title my old videos soon. A question and a video suggestion: Is it better to watch and comment using your KZbin channel account or does it really matter? (I have my main KZbin account under my name and that is where I have all my subscriptions and where I consume most of my content) And, as a video suggestion, could you give some advice on strategies to revive a dormant channel? I stopped making videos 9 months ago to help watch my then 2 year old while my wife was pregnant with our second. Now I have a 3 month old and want to restart my channel but I am not sure if just posting again after a long absence is the best strategy.

Thank you for always being here for us for added inspiration! Some days I feel great and other days I'm wondering why I'm doing this. Watching your videos and hearing your words (and your humor) are what redirects my focus back to the goal, which is to share my dog and me to the world, even if it's just one step at a time! ❤️🐼

Loved the time and effort you put into this. Gave it a massive thumbs up and I hope it does really well because you deserve to be rewarded for your effort. At the same time, watching videos like this can be a little disheartening. As a part time KZbinr who is a beginner to boot, it just reminds me of how much further I have to go!

Man, I'm watching your channel religiously. Sometimes I repeat some single video week by week. And I finally was able to produce an educational video that doesn't suck (today). I was watching all sorts of YT coaches, editor tips but you somewhat pieced it together for me. Thank you!

This is the best channel to learn from, what sets it apart from other channels trying to accomplish the same thing is that it uses the lessons it teaches you, like the whole storyline with the inception thing, it’s also just giving fantastic advice, very coooool
