Pudding is very conflicted right now. She's going back and forth between her newfound love for sanji and the evil mentality that she's comfortable with because she's basically stuck to it for as long as she can remember. Keep in mind that she's not mentally stable to begin with, and her entire world both figuratively and literally got flipped upside down like 10 minutes ago because someone treated her with genuine kindness for the first time since she was born. The thing about scars is that they take time to heal. Pudding can get better, but she needs time to settle into her new self.

i think pudding is a sad character she shows you the result of family trauma in the fact that everyone hated her 3rd eye thought it made her a freak and sanji comes along and is the first person to ever compliment her and emotionally and mentally breaks her and now is in love with sanji i think with her saying nice things and then immediately being mean is that her true feelings are coming out but she still has this wall up being on guard and poor sanji don’t understand what she wants 😭

except that it isnt, she first had these at Age 5, back in Elbaf. ever since she was abandoned at the shore, she used Food to repress all her Pain. once she stopped eating for the traditional fast, that pain welled up to the surface and shattered her mind, when she's like that she has no recollection of what she's doing. and she never will know about her Hunger Pangs, nor will she ever get better, because eating your feelings doesnt get rid of them anymore than drinking them.
