Your guide is Journeyman Falconer Joanne Bentley, a practitioner with over 15 years experience in the handling and schooling of birds-of-prey, and her support-team of assistants including Joseph Norris, Andrew & Megan Lemon, Chris Wright, and Bruce Lane.
With light-hearted humour and a gentle, informational approach, Jo will guide you in understanding the techniques of “winning” one’s Feathered-companion - first in earning their willingness to work with us, then - in our case - to work for the eye of the camera.
Jo's desire is to inspire established and new participants, wildlife enthusiasts, birders, and the wider public. This passionate Journeyman Falconer seeks to inform and introduce humanity to the intangible “living human-heritage” (UNESCO 2010) to which every one of us may lay claim through the Art of Falconry.

Good morning bigDbigDbigD; Thanks for checking in on this issue - we *_still_* haven't heard anything or received any help from local "emergency management" staff. We've obtained _some_ traction with Provincial (government) staff - these are the folks who normally support whatever work has been decided-upon by *localized* emergency staff, (who in our case haven't even sent someone out to assess the damage). So... We pulled together a temporary foot-bridge in order to allow us to get across the small river in my front yard, then persuaded the farmer on the adjacent property to let us drive our vehicles (basically) through _his_ "yard" so we could park them on the opposite side of the water. We can shop for groceries now, or get to the hospital were there an emergency, but with the wrinkle/hassles you'd expect from not being able to drive up to the house afterwards...at present, there's no way for emergency vehicles to get to us if there were a fire, or if we needed an ambulance. 😐 I'll post a video-update on all of this soon. .... unfortunately the only picture I have is of a dead american kestrel who was very young, made me sad to see such a beautiful creature just laid to waste on the side of a road, thus my adventure of falconry begins

Good evening beams098; If there is one universal truth where birds-of-prey are concerned, it would, in my opinion, be this: they are *_so_* fragile for all their strength... Had you found her at the edge of a forest, or some other more natural setting, it might not have hurt your heart so deeply...I feel and truly believe that the moment seeing something like this gets "easy", its time to take up basket-weaving, or sorting rocks - in other words, _anything_ which doesn't involve the need for empathy. so im a honest person so might not like this but.. i didn't care for the logo it just doesn't stick out to me as much as it could have and i think the feathers could be done a bit better and i don't understand the bent needle. but i do graphics as a hobby so I'm picky. in the end tho it only matters what you like .... now as far as bop that has had an influence in our life and made us like falconry. i guess i would have to pick Mohave as hes first bop i started to like but as far as influence in my life and making me fall in love with falconry it was you and Leah that did that not a bop.. so I'm need y'all to put on a bird costume and send me photos so i can start on my art

Hi there AssassinMods; Thank you for the feedback - our designer does graphic-design for a living, and brings a perspective to balancing elements I didn't fully appreciate until she began the lengthy process of explaining the process to me. The 'needle' is a stylized lure similar to the one which appears in my 'The Falconlady' logo - a subtle element which says "Falconry informs and makes-possible what we do". Best, Jo
