You probably need a wide band so that is going to come with a supplied bung which you can use. Careful on the RTV, it won't hold back pressure very well in threads, you probably want some teflon on the bolt to block off the oil line. If you need a one way block you can use a piece of hose with a bolt in it with a clamp. Careful about using caps or other things as those don't like to hold heat or pressure.

Being a new big turbo you may want to change the oil supply to the sandwich plate, the original oil supplies dont really supply enough oil/pressure for a turbo especially the big ass one he got.
@sergstroble32458 жыл бұрын
for the oil feed lines, why not make a fitting so you get 2 into one - oil running from both lines into the single turbo.

@danielquimby91708 жыл бұрын
don't block the coolant lines, just re route them past the turbo with plan hose. also the coolant flows the same as stock. good luck
@danielquimby91708 жыл бұрын
don't be ghetto mechanics. too much power to take short cuts. just blocking them will leak down the road.

Why not run caps on the coolant nipples instead of a U hose? Also, it wouldn't be to hard to cut a piece of metal to block the high pressure coolant feed. Trace it out onto 1/8" metal and cut with a cut wheel then grind to perfection.
@stiffchocolate59008 жыл бұрын
alright dont hate me for this, just trying to learn here. Can you just join the 2 oil ports and feed it to the turbo? or will it cause some problems?
@kylenapier79208 жыл бұрын
block the front oil return, the rear return has a higher oil pressure
@ismailkoca52208 жыл бұрын

the way my dad blocks off oil/waterlines or anything like that he takes a bit of hose that will fit on the pipe clamp it to that and stick a bolt in the end and rtb gray's it or uses jb weld

do not use rtv on the bolt that blocks the oil feed it can hydro lock the bolt into the block

for the thermostat housings go to any aut parts house and just ask to see the hose find one with the a U shouldn't cost more than 20$ for the oil return find a bolt same size thread an pitch. buy a copper washer . 5$ coolant line. peace of metal cut and grind to shape make two holes . buy gasket roll. cut and make your own gasket . don't be cheap and do things half asked you'll regret it later . also clean the engine bay

@4x4forlyfe8 жыл бұрын
4 guys there working and you all almost couldn't even figure out to just loop the coolant line... You could have even thrown some rubber/vinyl nipples on and called it a day. If you want it to look clean, like factory, those ports are press fitted into the coolant elbow and can be yanked out. After pulling out, you can buy some threaded expansion plugs or tap the holes and add a short bolt to each. As for the rear oil feed, don't use RTV...they make copper crush washers for a reason.
