That thing is big, and appears to be a great cleaner!

I always wanted one big enough to put a rifle barrel in it, but they get pretty pricey when they get that large. Very cool ultrasonic cleaner Dustin!

I used to refurbish older bicycles as a hobby and used an ultrasonic cleaner, once you go ultrasonic you never go back.

Looks like you could cook a lot of chicken in that!

Now that is very interesting , I had never thought of that. Many thanks.

Two things.... do not clean nickel or chrome plated guns (or anything) in the ultrasonic... it will remove nickel. also if you don't want to contaminate your entire tank every time... get large glass containers and put whatever cleaner you want in them and then put them in the tank The waves will go right through the glass.

Looks like the 30 liter Vevor I just got to replace my 5 year old 15 liter cleaner that needs a repair. Great investment for cleaning firearms, shell casings, and motorcycle & car parts.

I just got one this weekend and used simple green and it made my gun rust immediately and looked 10 years old. I was pretty upset but admittedly i used my lease favorite gun. I used 1:10 ratio

How hot was the water? If it’s too warm, you’ll get surface rust as soon as the parts come out. When that happens though, it’s easy to get it off.

Had to ask a question off topic was there a 44 Magnum equivalent of that back in the West 😊😊

Running my second ultrasonic cleaning right now. I haven't heard of the tin foil test, but hopefully it will pull the fouling off the parts im cleaning; it didn't do so well the first time, so i added a lot more cleaner to it. We'll see.

Id like to see a demonstration of the new machine. Thanks.

It would be convenient to have a water source near this ultrasound, since eight gallons of water weights almost 70 lbs. But I don't in my case. Carrying it full of hot water would be out of the question. Lots of trips between the kitchen sink and garage to fill this beast up. It will be interesting to see how long this one will last. I have gone through about 3 of these economy ultrasounds already. But at this price point might as well give it a try.

Good video Dustin, I will try the tin-foil test.

Would a cap and ball revolver benefit from using J-B Bore Compound to polish the bore? Maybe improve accuracy and lessen fouling?

Do you put the gun parts on the wire mesh basket? Does it scratch the gun?
@richardmeyers878110 ай бұрын
Dustin have you ever used ballistol along with the water to clean your guns as a rust preventative
@GunsOfTheWest10 ай бұрын
Not as a wash solution, but I put it on the parts after they come out of the machine and get dried.

How does bluing hold up under that?
@GunsOfTheWest10 ай бұрын
Very well. I use Dawn dish soap and warm water as the solution and I haven’t had any trouble with bluing.
