I've built 12 of these for my house and shop. Mines vertical. Their the 14 coil motors with alot heavier magnets. 6 will power my house we built without problems and 6 will power the shop. They don't take up much space but make loads of power. I'd switch that to charging 48-60 volt battery banks. No matter what your doing something so great job.

A little Hint from me : replace that magnets with neodymium-magnets. That will increase your power-output extraordinary :) But keep an eye on the new voltages, to do not burn that bulbs ^^ *Thumbs up*

it will not increase your power "magically". you will need more torque to generate that additional power. But the potential voltage will increase due to the increased magnetic field strength. Just so you know.,@@Riosmuler

You'll never get 5kW from that. The machine is only rated at 1.7kW and most of that is for the water heater. You'd be lucky to get a few hundred watts generated.

Yep. And the ...alnico i assume... magnets arent overly powerful... cus the engineers know about bemf and stuff like that, how it effects efficiency, rpm, power curves... They make a bit but 5kw... yeah... lol. Someone clued up on measuring flux densities etc may get a reasonably accurate figure... im all for 200w or so, max.

Mr.@ Peter D Morrison . The LG machin is 1.7kW and motor only is 0.6KW. The generator can delver at max speed 0.5KW . So in one day it can delever 5KW per day.

That's pretty cool but now way your getting 5kw from that stator. you really need to extend the tail fin to gain leverage to keep it facing the wind.

I rigged one of these to a water wheel and msnged to get about 900W. Wind is far less powerful so it might generate power, maybe 300W or so on a breezy day, but wont get to 5KW except maybe in a tornado.😂

El real problema de éste proyecto con ese tipo de pala es que cuando se le somete a una carga el rotor se frena considerablemente porque opone resistencia... Yo estoy realizando el mismo proyecto pero con el eje vertical y una aspas con mayor capacidad de torque en detrimento de la velocidad.

Gd mrning my dear, maybe its a 5000wtts maximum when reach a fast speed wind blows dear friend.... As you can i tested the watts power only in hands spinn. 33WP.gathered.so for this big LG INVENTER WASHING MACHINE MOTOR can reach maybe arround 4 to 5kilowatts maximum speedy....i will do another diy in this motor.. Maybe a better wind blades to a better enginering design tp produce much more current for my solar batteries..thanks dear for you visit...🙏Godbless you

It will solve many problems such as 1- the connection of wire from coils to the system will be in it's place and will not rotate on the post, 2- the low wind speed can give you electricity, 3- easy to prepare with a little work shop , 4- no need any tail and 5- stable on the post. Sa ngayon po sir rommel meron akong 7 horizontal axis wind turbine... 2 carrier aircon auxfan motor gamit ko 1 washing machine 1 type writer motor 3 PMG motor... Kahit papano nakaka dagdag din ng charge sa 350amperes ko na mga solar batteries ko po... Kasi pagdating ng gabi po ay bokya po ang 1000watts ko na solar panel eehh kaya pag sa gabi mahangin sa rooftop ay bahala na yung mga turbine... Anyway maraming salamat po sir... The wind blows moderately thats why the turbine cannt spinn much faster than i expected but truely this kind of PMG motor from LG FRT LOAD INVERTER WASHING MACHINE can gathered higher current than other PMG motor sir... You can try also in your country. Look for this kind of imverter motor.. And test it... please comment me here if you have done tested a PMG motor direct drive washing machine..
