She had a vocal coach since she was around 5 yo. She had voice difficulty due to an a neglectful and abusive mother. At three, she was left at a bus stop with a broaken collar bone. Diana doesn't show all her skills in this one song, she's in a competition after all and has another performance to come. (Edit: sorry, i later remembered that you have already heard Rechenka.) The previous year when she was 14, in competition, she was not so canny, and pulled out all the stops. It was a cover of an old folk song (that had been re-arranged in the 1990s for Alla Pugacheva) titled "Rechenka". This is the next one to go to. She still sings Rechenka but in a lower key and "just to answer those who keep questioning if its my real voice", she sings it acapella. I think Diana has a very big difference between head and chest voice. Therefore, the mix sounds like a double voice (I don’t know if this voice was preserved after growing up). Perhaps such an unusual chest voice could be the result of childhood trauma.

Liked your way of analyzing her voice. Diana had an unusual development of her voice. Due to severe abuse from her biological mother, she was placed in an orphanage. At age 4/5 she was adopted (by Irina, who was a massagist and attended Diana) but she had problems speaking (she stuttered and talked very little, from what I understood) BUT loved to sing cartoons music and had perfect pitch in these occasions. By medical recommendation she was taken to singing lessons. And the result is as you see - a fabulous and unique young woman, with great talent and very hardworking. And so, the singing teacher Elena Kazantseva discovered Diana's talent. And all started ... During 2008 to 2012 Diana sang around 40 songs, including at competitions. Diana's mother became her daughter's manager. Everything that has to do with Diana's singing training, performances, competitions, looking for sponsors is organized and coordinated by her mother Irina Ponik. She took extra sewing courses too. Since then, she's been sewing all of Diana's stage costumes, because all of these things consume the family budget. She accompanies her daughter on trips and captures her life in photos and videos with the persistence of a visionary. After winning a competition in Moscow, Diana's mother was offered to leave the girl in a boarding school for gifted children. She refused and in 2012 her family moved to her hometown of Toglyatti, much closer to Moscow. Diana lost her fear that the woman who gave birth to her would kidnap her. Diana's voice, her perfect pitch and her sense of rhythm were extraordinary even as a little girl and so she impressed with her talent in over 50 national and international competitions. Her confidence grew, her voice continued to develop ... until one day she was asked to compete in more distant competitions so that other children could have a chance to win. In 2017 she went to Moscow, at the Russian 'The Voice Kids'. So, she could start her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskoy (She died of Covid-19 in October 2020). The break of voice made Diana’s voice even darker and deeper. She has mastered this time very professionally and has worked hard to bring back the lost high notes and has expanded her vocal range, currently from C3 to D6. Her genres are folk-rock, folk-pop, jazz, soul, blues, soldier songs and Diana-stile… tradition meets modernity. She loves to sing in French, but also sings in English, German, Arabic and Spanish... but only phonetically.
