The Oliver look’s premium quality but the Bigfoot floor plan is a more livable space with a lot more storage. It’s better for full time living.

Those Olivers are using the molded fiberglass interior features to add even more strength and rigidity to their full hull designs. As much as I love my Bigfoot, I think the Oliver is better made. Thanks for the tour you two!
@Gnosticware6 ай бұрын
Which leads to it being a very heavy trailer for it's size, less interior room, a ridiculous price and a design flaw of having two vapor barriers. There's an interior space between the shells that collects moisture, which is why they had to add drain holes. Buildings are designed with a single vapor barrier which is the correct solution. The extra strength isn't needed, it's entirely overkill. I do like the quality and look but that interior shell is a flawed design, no boat takes this approach either, it's unique to Oliver.
@billredding20004 ай бұрын
@@Gnosticware I was going to also say -- so I agree -- Olivers are too heavy, so none of their models would be suitable for my current tow-vehicle (mid-size truck)...wish they made a short one which should be noticeably lighter (but still VERY pricey I'm sure). I agree with bob_frazier (above) Oilivers are probably the better (best?) made "eggshell" type TTs, at least when it comes to American-made RVs (most of which are crap). The Canadian and EU RVs seem to be way better quality-wise. -- BR

We bought the Oliver 2 years ago after retirement. We’ve traveled a little over 15,000 miles. Camped 2 weeks off grid last year at 9000’ in Wyoming just off solar power. Absolutely no issues traveling some really bad roads. Perfect for us.

Both are nice looking trailers for sure. For my wife & I though we are perfectly happy with our pop-up as we feel part with nature in it. We had a really nice travel trailer once, but felt claustrophobic in it & sold it. Thanks for taking your time folks. Have a beautiful day! Cheers!!! Illinois, USA

Thanks for the thorough walk throughs. We’re looking at going full time and the Oliver looks like a great build but not a very inviting interior and it seems very small inside. Reminds me of the sailboat my family had growing up, gets the job done but you don’t really want to be in there. The Bigfoot definitely seems like a winner to me. With a dog and cat I appreciate the space in a small trailer and a dry bath. The wet bath in the Oliver just seems so awkward I dont think it’s usable at 6’2” with broad shoulders I’d probably have to have an outside shower setup. Also I’m not sure about the black tank outlet being recessed into a space that you’d have to clean out before stowing your hose. I’d probably cut the floor out and stow the hose in a tube.

I'd much rather have to recliners than a dinette that nobody wants to sit at. Dinettes are so incredibly uncomfortable nobody wants to sit at them and you sure as heck don't want to sleep on one. Having the two recliners with the table that moves is phenomenal for anyone who might be still working occasionally or if it's just yourself You don't need a big huge dinette. Really like the build of a Bigfoot. You can see and hear the quality. Love the 3 burner stove you can actually use. I need an oven. ❤

You guys should borrow an infra red gun and shine it on three campers with AC on in the heat ... Oliver, a Bigfoot and an Airstream! My bet is the Bigfoot will show the least energy transmission and the Airstream show the most

The way they hold their value, and the way inflation is going, you might buy a nice used one and sell it for what you have in it later. Can't do that with a wooden trailer.

The 2 Bigfoot's, I think, are full-time livable. The Oliver's are nice but they seem a little smaller and claustrophobic. Bigfoot models are better priced with the better floor plans. $80 grand, you definitely pay for the better quality.
@rustyfanblack57987 ай бұрын
Thanks for the video. I chose the Bigfoot over the Oliver, because of the dry bath in the Bigfoot. However I like the double hull of the Oliver. Great strength in the structure, as well as clean lines and detailing in lighting. 😎

So, I could have done more due diligence before I ordered the Bigfoot, as the manufacturer will custom install equipment and other items in the productions cycle. Should’ve, would’ve, could’ve! Here are two You Tube channels that really went the extra mile on installing solar for off grid. Alaska Ram Travel Adventures, and Over the River and Through the Woods, so take a peek. 😎

I love the build quality of the Oliver and have researched the a lot. I do worry a little about what seems to be smaller inside space and if that would get a little claustrophobic. I really like the Bigfoot but it is really dated in terms of the appliances they use and lack of solar etc. for that price they should be using the Truma heater, A/C and water heater etc. they really need to refresh and upgrade their trailers and if they did that, I would be interested. Wonder why Northern Lite scrapped the Boreal trailer? Loved my 8.11 and really wanted to see them come out with the trailer. All that being said, if I were buying today it would be a Peak Mtn Camp sheep wagon.

Since you two have done both truck camper and trailer hauling, did you guys have a preference between towing or hauling? We have been living and travelling in truck camper for 2 years and we are now considering a bigfoot 25ft trailer instead. We would love to separate the current truck and camper more so we have just a truck to drive and not carry the home everywhere but it's so time consuming and daunting to do, hence the interest in a trailer. We generally don't do campgrounds. We are off-grid boondockers
