As a new subscriber I am catching up on all your Videos!So in one of my.comments on your Steve Reeves Magazine cover post different video I mentioned Reeves being the Inspiration for starting weight training Steve Reeves is still my favorite B.B.!His drive for Symmetry 18’5 inch arm Neck and Calves plus Chest to waist ratio is so Classical.Great to see his arm routine and mentioning the forgotten Zottman Curl I have showed it to countless young Bodybuilders and many have adopted it.I look forward to your videos like I’m a young boy again waiting for the next issue of my favorite Bodybuilding mags to come in the mail!

should add Reeves in an interview said he never wrote any of the articles in muscle magazines they just used his pictures and wrote what they "believed" were his methods putting his name on them.....with his natural genetics and ability to get in shape almost over night he may have done many different routines with the same results.....the story of his 6 weeks training at the York Barbell Company in 1949 is an amazing story of his ability to change over night, that story was confirmed by many including one of the greats of the game John Grimek

As a historian i can tell you he only changed that fast in that SEVEN week period due to steroid useage
@GoldenEraBookworm5 жыл бұрын
@@stevenewer1 I have heard allegations of steroid usage by Reeves. Do you have proof? I argue that Swiss medtec company Ciba only came out with Dianabol in the 50s. So how could Steve have used when steroids did not exist?

@@GoldenEraBookworm I always wondered when they started juicing. I wonder if dbol was the 1st oral or if injectable test was available before dbol.
@GoldenEraBookworm5 жыл бұрын
@@Leonidas3888 It's a good question. All I know for sure is that test was available, and only used in Eastern Europe in the early to mid 50s. It arrived to the US later in the mid 50s, but the York team did not like the side effects. In the late 50s dbol came out...that's when the golden era was born...and unfortunately soon after when drug abuse began.

Interesting. I've got his 1996 "Building the Classic Physique" and the Zottman curl isn't mentioned at all. Why, if in 1948 he's states that the Zottman was what he considered the best exercise? Is there a reason, other than ghostwriters?

I do not... Now here's where I want to KICK MYSELF!..LOL... On the inside of the front door...Vince...had one-sheet pages...that focused on diets, and other exercise material...They were FREE!.. for any members who wanted to just....pick them up!.. Vince had added wooden 'containers'...made into the door... Much like, say, you can find things made today of plastic, where you'd get brochures, if you were in a doctor's office, for instance. So..I did pick up a few...and may still have a few...but right now, I have no idea where they are... I still have a few boxes packed up...from when I moved from L.A. If I do find any...I'll let you know. :) Keep up the videos on Reeves.!...and look at the other comment I left on another video you made...Thanks!...
@Rowlandph6 жыл бұрын
Oh, one more thing... There's an excellent short one chapter about Vince..by Robert Blake, who was a good friend of his.. It's in Blake's book: Tales of a Rascal. It will give you another side of Vince that few know about...He wasn't always the cantankerous, rough, guy many know him for. He was always very nice to me...and just a regular guy. Blake captured the other side of Vince, perfectly in his book... I'll see if I can find any flyers from Vince's Gym, that he used to give away... He also did a seminar one morning...demonstrating how he did the exercises... It was a free seminar!...And any gym members could attend. I made sure I was there that morning...LOL..
