Probably one of my favorite one on one interviews on this podcast. Perry's unpretentious delivery of wisdom is not only paletable, but makes one ponder.

I love this interview and Parry Marshall's thinking. The 80/20 Principle is not necessarily about doing less and become lazy. It's about doing the things that actually work. And not doing the things that totally don't work. Quality Control. Do more Qualitative Work So you can make qualitative leaps ahead.

Do you have to lowball sellers to make money in real estate wholesaling?

I'm very interested in learning about the 80/20 principle, has anyone else read either the original 80/20 book or Perry's book on it? And if so, is there any particular order you would recommend reading them in?

80/20 Pareto's Law - Tim Ferris mentioned it long ago and overall true. Can be applied as 90/10, 75/25, 85/15. Its nothing compelling but can be used to ID or isolate issues

So he’s referring the to Pareto distribution, also known as the “Matthew Principle” from the Bible - “those who have everything more shall be given, those who have nothing everything will be taken”

If 80/20 is always there, won't you find your 20 or 80 and change your protocols to address those and then end up 80/20 again? haha. This is a completely circular talk. This guy definitely likes to hear himself talk. Of course, there is less productive people, products or processes, there always will be. If you take 100 sales people and only 20 produce 80% of your sales, then why don't you fire 80 people? I love the show guys, but recently it's been a lot of self-promotion type guests, it's getting a little old.
@maximarbuzov30927 жыл бұрын
Joe you make it so simple, address it by firing 80 people, but then 80 percent of the 20 will be "unproductive"...what will you do then, fire them too. I honestly disagree, I think there is more of a 20/60/20 ratio, in which twenty outperform, 60 are neutral, and 20 are simply negligent, In that situation it makes sense to "fire" the unproductive.

Maxim Arbuzov - good reply. My sarcasm must not of been obvious. I agree with you. I was using the examples he gave in the video to make a point that this stuff is ridiculous.
