I went to turkey last year and got a DHI procedure. The DHI cost more yet I still came out with a failed transplant. This is because they use their less experienced staff to do the DHI's because it's an easier method to perform than an FUE. So this guy didn't even account for the direction of my hair. When he started I even questioned it because the dude was positioned behind me and it felt like he was implanting my top hairs at an upright angle when I know the top of my head grows forward. He told me he's going with the direction of my hair and i just figured he's the surgeon, he knows what he's talking about. Boy am I pissed. I'm a year in and all of my implanted hair is shooting straight up with no angle. Don't go to Asli Tarcan for a DHI. It is a scam.
@crisdavid35162 жыл бұрын
Wow I’ve been looking into asli Tarcan for mine.. how many grafts did you do?
@wmasterss2 жыл бұрын
@@crisdavid3516 I was heavily persuaded into 4500 grafts which lead to over-harvesting on the mid-back and rear right side of my head. My advice to you, if Asli Tarcan is your best bet money-wise, is to be stern about making your own decisions on your procedure. Do not let them persuade you to do it their way because they have messed up a lot of people's heads in the past year. If you feel like you don't need 4500 grafts, put your foot down. Tell them 3000. Its better to aim lower and if you feel like you need more density then you can go back. It's better than for them to overharvest you then you have to get a repair procedure in another clinic which may not even guarantee a perfect recovery. They shoot for extremely high graft counts because their main goal is to prioritize making the front of your head look really good as far as density. But often times that comes with messing up the back for many people. Getting the front to look good is what attracts customers. Too much emphasis on the front forget about the back. This also sabotages your ability to grow your hair out because your back is too thin and it'll show. Then there's those who get overharvested and it just looks bad period. Prioritize picking what you think is just right for you. Do research. If you don't agree with their inevitable high graft projection, override them. If you get recruited by a man named Fred, you'll DEFINITELY have to strong arm him. He is very stubborn and and will fuck you over. If you need more density you can just go back. but your best bet is to try to get it just right and avoid being fucked over like many others. As for the nature of the clinic.. Asli Tarcan herself, the business owner, seems to be more focused on herself than actually truly caring about ensuring the best outcomes for her clients. I say this because way too many people has been overharvested from there, and from what I hear, it's still happening. What I've observed from being in her presence personally is she walks around everyday with a cameraman recording her every move. She conducts herself like a celebrity, extravagant outfits, all the while countless of her patients end up unsatisfied with their results. She strike me as the type that won't really care unless the money begins slowing down. Anyway, so that's my extra 99 cents. lol Good luck if decide to go.

One part that I’m curious to hear a medical opinion on is the claim that DHI is not associated with a greater graft survival rate. I was under the impression that Sapphire FUE (for example) has a graft survival rate of about 70%, because cells die a little when they’re removed for transplant and not receiving immediate blood flow. DHI having higher survival rates because the grafts are implanted directly back into the scalp, where circulation can resume faster. Is this correct?

@a.karatas953 what interrupts blod flow is the tumescence fluid (saline, epinephrine (strong vasoconstrictor) and local anesthesics) which we do not use with dhi surgery to recipient area..holding solutions are used with all techniques.critical point is out of body time in this manner. Density is about greft count, structure of hair(multiple, thick,curley long ) and also about the surgeons artistic skill and concentration of implantation pattern regarding delivery of the grefts .for example if you implant grefts in a row you will have worse result..a bit 'irregular (chaotic) implantation pattern provides more coverage (visual density)

There's a claim that in FUE, time out of body for the grafts is higher as compared to DHI. In FUE, it is stored in some solution for a couple hours but in DHI, the recipient site creation and implantation is simultaneous and hence, ensures higher survival rates. Is this true or false?

I dont agree, the dhi method is much superior, fue 3 stages, dhi 2 stages. With dhi u have the advantage of stacking the implants closer, for density. The reason why this dr and the rest who are against dhi is because they make less money, its all about the sterling for these drs. With fue the dr makes the slits and then technicians take over but with dhi the law states only a dr can make an incision hence why they prefer fue, with dhi the dr cant run off to next patient. For every one dhi the dr loses the time of 5 fue's. Go for dhi.

Ive had two procedures in China from Barley hair transplant. They actually combo the things. After extraction, which is a huge pain in the ass btw, the doctor will make cuts to shape the hairline according to the lines and to give the team who use the pens direction and then they plant the hairs.

The china doctor I went to was skilled AF, all my hairs and implanted on really low acute angle..that’s typically a sign of their skill.

Do you have Asian hair ? Wasn't sure places like China or Korea which is the area I lived in, is a good place to do the procedure for someone with hair that is quite different to the one they usually treat

Do you have any updated research on this because I’m seeing a lot of successful procedures and patients that are leaving great reviews having a lot of success with density and scarring so it seems like it’s actually a better alternative to FUE. My brother-in-law did a mixture of FUE with DHI and the results were incredible. Not once scar on his head complete coverage and you would never know he had a procedure. what are your thoughts?

Hallo doctor. Which clinic do you recommend in turkey?? It’s almost two years that I’m looking for a reliable doctor for my hair transplantation in turkey but every time I doubt if he the right one is. I checked every day on internet but I come across contradictory opinions . Would recommend a good one in Istanbul turkey??
@HairlossExperiences2 жыл бұрын
Explained well and factual. People really need to educate themselves before having a hair transplant surgery. The DHI method is not a new phenomenon, it’s been around a long time. An important point with DHI is do you trust a non doctor to implant your grafts at the correct angles, depth, etc?
@a.karatas953 Жыл бұрын
I think, this is not a problem. If the implanter is good and knows, whats to do, you do not need a doctor. Not in every clinic the doctor makes the slits. And not any doctor can make good slits. There are a lot of bad transplantation, made by real doctors and good transplants made bei the tecnichens. The result of a slit technique depends on the profession of the doctor. If he makes bad placed slites, the assitant will put in this bad slits all the hair. This can be the same shit work, like the work of someone who is not good in DHI implantation

Dr Gary, is it possible for you to do a video on what your spouse to do after receiving a fue hair transplant? Whats the next process in taking care of the grafts where it was placed and donor hair area?

They say with DHI the grafts are obtained and immediately loaded into the pen (not stored in a solution), thus spending less time outside the body. Is that true?

I need help! Twenty-two years ago I was scammed into having an FUT hair transplant. The results were so bad I had no choice but to wear a hairpiece, which I’ve been doing ever since. I’ve reached the point in my life where I don’t care anymore and want to sport a bald head, but I still have the corn-row hair-plug implants on my head and long scars in my donor area. What can I do to reverse the transplant and make my head look like the transplant never happened?

You can try SMP to cover up the scarring. Many people did it, just look it up. Good luck.

the transplanted hair is permanent, but the original hair can still fall so you will need an additional transplant in the future if you don't take Propecia to prevent further hair loss

Question: I have previously done two FUE treatments, unfortunately not with the expected results so I considering to go for DHI for better density. I read that after having FUE treatment DHI is difficult to go through. Any info / advice on this? Thanks!
@a.karatas953 Жыл бұрын
Watch the video. It will gives you the answer all your questions. No one extracts hair with FUT for DHI-implanting. DHI means, the way how the implant the transplants, it does not discribes the extraction method. I think, it will be very hard to find a clinic which extracts the grafts with FUT-methode and implants with DHI. If you look at all clinics, which offer DHI, it is always a combination with FUE-extraction.
@DraganBakema Жыл бұрын
FUE distraction and DHI plantation you mean? DHI has nothing to do with the donor area. I did FUE extraction from the donor area and DHI for planting the grafts. a team of 4 people and a surgeon. 14 hours, 2700 grafts.

Hi Dr. Linkov, quick couple of questions please. You mentioned scarring and said it was inevitable, is it always permanent? If I get a beard transplant, will the scars show if I get a clean shave? Thank you for your content, it’s amazing.

There should be no noticeable scarring on beard transplants if done right. The skin is 'mushy' vs scalp skin but still should be fine in the right haneds.

Hey doctor! I had a few questions, I tried searching up to see if you have a video on diffuse thinning or not and since I couldn't find anything I am going to ask! 1. How can you tell if you have diffuse thinning? 2. Can a person with diffuse thinning get a hair transplant? I'm almost 28 and to the average person it probably doesn't look like I have hairloss but I am shedding quite a bit as days go by even on finasteride. Would appreciate a video on diffuse thinning if that is something you'd like to talk about! Love your videos and wish you all the best.
@steve11656 Жыл бұрын
Diffuse thinning means the field of hair is thinning without a pronounced bald spot per se. Compare the hair to the side hair. Is it thinner in caliber/lighter in color?

I’m 57 and have considered a hair transplant, I’m probably a Norwood 5. I had an ablation to treat a- fib and have been been fine since the procedure that was 3 years ago. Would it be risky to have a hair transplant? Otherwise, I’m in great shape.

Some years ago, I bought a Christmas hat. I find this covers up my loss of hair ok but it depends on the weather. Hats are usually less expensive than surgical procedures. Photos of "different hats" are acceptable. I do not consider that "wearing a hat" is a "scam".

do you have scarring from the donor sites? Is there any way to avoid this?
@medyolangno30492 жыл бұрын
When he started talking about technicians loading the pens and "assumes" that because they can make mistakes, and then "concludes" that this is a scam, myth, or whatever failure-type conclusion he wants to sell is enough for me to conclude myself that this doctor is just simply biased about DHI. Any, and I repeat, ANY procedures would require a doctor to have an assistant, even FUE or FUT would require you to have an assistant. To say that because you have an assistant with DHI makes it a scam then so is FUE and FUT, but we know that's not true. Bottomline: Do not, and I repeat, DO NOT, seek advice about a procedure from a surgeon who does not perform that procedure. Seek advice from a surgeon that does both, or all three, to get an unbiased opinion. This doctor spent 17 minutes throwing out fallacies just to claim DHI is a scam when in fact his statements are merely "opinions".
