Isn't strip better considering the lifetime of a person? Because if you harvest via FUE in late 20's to 40's you'll have gaps in the donor area which might not look good if you harvest more if the patient need another procedure. But with FUT you are just moving the scalp up and the whole strip can be used to transplant.

Gentlemen, Why are in the case of FUE's hairs often taken out of a specific very neatly defined area rather than a more "blended" area that slowly begins to fade in and slowly begins to fade out? If there's no clear and defined line where are "suddenly" hairs taken out next to an area where there are no hairs taken out, then for observer it will not as easily be perceived as a transition. If white is displayed next to light grey, then people will see the difference between white and light grey more easily than if white slowly fades over into light grey. Also, in nature things typically tend to slowly transition from one thing into the next. Even the hair on our head slowly transitions from the finer hair near the sides and hairline towards the thicker hair behind it. So to be clear, I mean would it not be a good idea to take 1 graft out and then for a while nothing and then another...and then slowly increase the amount of hairs that are taken outin an area. In all the over harvested donor areas in pictures I've, apart from the thin areas that were left in these areas, what I really perceived as apparent was this box like shape on the back/side of people's head that just does not look natural, no matter if that area is very thin or just thin.

Beware; the first time you see the donor area after the surgery may freak you out. I know I did. But give it time. Over time it will heal and you will hardly notice it. I had a total of six procedures. You have to be patient with the process.

@@ilikecookies6406 it doesn’t grow back where they take it out but it does grow where they ‘plant’ it. Understand they are transplanting hair that is not programmed to fall out. If you never had a transplant, there is a certain amount of hair on your head that continues to grow. That’s the hair they are moving.

The purpose of finasteride after a hair transplant is to maintain the original hairs on top of the scalp for density purposes. A lot of guys think that one hair transplant is all you need for life, but that couldn't be further from the truth. You still need to maintain your original dht sensitive hair follicles. The transplanted hairs, however, are DHT resistant since they came from the back of the scalp

The doctors mention that it’s less noticeable if you get an FUE vs FUT because they have to shave/buzz cut the donor area. However the recipient area is going to be very noticeable for months. They will shave your recipient area and then put the hairs in there which will have minimal scarring but have scabs for way over a month.

My patients don’t have scabs at all. I have them come to my clinic the next day and I personally shampoo their donor and recipient area and I apply an ointment and I teach them how to do It so there is no scab.
