The first time I tasted Turkish breads was in Germany. I live off post and my apartment was only half a block away from the bakery. I used to wake up hungry just smelling the cooking breads. I also used to buy the breads and bring them to work. I still crave them once in a while.

Would you eat it as slices in a sandwich, for toast with eggs, a big piece with a bowl of stew? They are so huge, I was just wondering if they were eaten in a particular fashion?

@ickBoys I would used the ends as a bowl for stew, sandwich, or just break off what I need to dunk in my coffee. I would bring it whole to work, my soldiers and friends would just cut pieces for their coffee.

this reminded me my childhood. It was my task to go to bakery in the morning to get the same bread but smaller one right out from the oven still smoking than run home. my mom was slicing in two horizontally and put butter inside. That butter was melting by the bread’s own heat. Once the butter melted we were eating it with cheese and honey for breakfast with my siblings and parents. This was the weekend treat of my childhood 😊 Thanks for sharing.

Looks fantastic, I wish I could visit this bakery! Respectfully, adding flour to the inside of the loaf before you start folding them makes it much harder to get it to stick. I leave the top sticky so folds go quickly. I feel like they're making it harder than it has to be - although I understand they may be pounding them to make sure there are no huge air pockets. Still, I'm sure it's delicious!

When i was a child my family would go to the coast from Knidos to Marmaris and the bread from all of the harbours and bays (where just one family might live) was amazing! i remember specifically a bay with small pontoon and we woke in the morning to the smell of the oven baking bread, given to us hot and as fresh as your eyes could see. Delicious bread with savoury or sweet, just with oilive oil, or an accompaniment to a meal.

Труд пекарей не лёгкий. Отличный хлеб у талантливых и преданных делу. Очень люблю посещать турецкие пекарни, когда путешествую по Турции. Впервые удивил трабзон екмек и размером и вкусом. Такой вижу и радуют его размеры, сразу представляю большую работящую семью за едой. В Стамбуле у мечети Селима мужчина с машины продавал подобный хлеб, мы купили у него часть буханки и ели прямо по дороге вкуснейший хлеб, который просто таял во рту. А на рынке фындыкзаде купили хлеб, я начала отламывать , а продавец увидел мое желание, отрезал ломоть и намазал его сливочным маслом. Ценят хлеб в Турции! Работникам этой пекарни крепкого здоровья

Şimdiye kadar yüzden fazla ekmek yapım videosu izledim. Açık ara en pis en özensiz fırıncılar bizim fırın ve fırıncılar. Avrupa Japon vb fırınlara göre çok geliştirmemiz lazım temizlik ve hijyeni. Kanal yöneticilerinin yerinde olsam hijyene dikkate etmeyen yerlerin videosunu yayına vermezdim!

No, this big is an exception. But also an exceptional bread. Theyre baked with low heat for 4 or 5 hours to have that texture.
