@@geronimopratt7702 - they weren’t deactivated. The gunsmith who sold them was ringing deacs. E.g. - gunsmith buys 5 MG-42s. He deactivates one and gets the certificate. He then puts the serial number of gun #2 onto the deac, sends it off to get the certs, and does this until he has 1 deac and 4 live weapons. On paper they are all legally deactivated. The gunsmith went to prison but the guy with the arsenal in his kitchen died of cancer while waiting to go to trial.

@@Supreme-SEF there is ww2 and older stuff owned by criminals here pistols are mainly used in shootings but old,antique,collectable,new stuff of all sizes is owned by criminals, i`ve seen with my own eyes a very old revolver a modern small glock and a not so old full size semi auto shotgun in the hands of criminals had the glock pointed at me lad was waving it around like his favorite toy showing it off even pulled the mag out to show its real duno if one was chamberd complete stranger to me and the person i was with.. we was just buying £20 off weed each, never went back to that person , and revolver and shotgun was in the possesion of a "gang" again only knew them and seen the guns from buying weed just for myself not even large ammounts i bought weed off them for a while but only because i trust one of them given what the group was like i didnt buy from that person for long, even had that revolver pointed at me and clicked through all the chambers but i had seen they was all empty before hand.... in the uk i`ve seen a pair of shotguns that was antiques worth a fortune found sawn off that had been used in robberys and a m240 that was found because a gang was posting pictures off it, no one is gonna do a drive by with a Bren or m240 or full size shotgun but they are owned and used in differant circumstances by criminals/gangs there used to hold up drug dealers, flex sort of like they did with the m240 or they will fetch there gun from wherever its hidden if they think someone is coming to get them

You can't import "deactivated" guns from the UK because they still have the receivers. The receiver would need to be chopped up before importation, at which point its a worthless pile of replacement parts.

It's not even dark web shit, you used to be able to find that on Global Security's website (might still be there). This happened not far from where I live. The guy with the guns was a local councillor, ex-army, and an illegal collector. He died of cancer before the case came to court. The guns were obtained from another local gun dealer who went to prison for it. The guns were ‘ringed’ deactivated weapons. The gun dealer was buying multiple machine guns and similar, he would deactivate one example, and then replace the serial number of another gun onto the deac and send it off to get a deac cert. He did this multiple times and would sell the supposedly deactivated guns off live. The total number of firearms was something like 150, including a pair of MG42s.

Granted this is a headline grabbing article. What would really get the public impressed is a reduction in the number of unregistered weapons. They are mostly pistols, semi-automatic, entered the country illegally (all too easily as documented by journalists) and they’re in the hands of criminals. Get this sorted and stop the government trying to further restrict weapons that are impossible to secrete and are, therefore, almost impossible to use in crime. Then you can crow about some impressive figures.
