We'll never know the true back story, but just from a common sense point of view, Biggie was naive in that particular moment and he shouldn't have travelled to L.A. so soon. Back in those days NY cats were very arrogant and believed that nobody was harder than NY. I think a lot of NY cats in general went out west thinking one thing and then getting a rude awakening finding out the hard way that shit is real out there. I think that was a factor that contributed to biggie letting his guard down and going out there too soon.
