Don´t you love how casual and humble are the Arnold´s about other storngman competition? "Here comes 4 times WSM winner, Brian Shaw" "Last year WUS winner, Mateusz..." and so on while WSM tries to not even mention the Arnold´s, cause they make them look bad, dated and their implements look ugly, not that WSM is not cool, it is, but the Arnold´s are something else, just look at that T Bar for Squat, or the Elephant bar, the Wheel of Pain, Appollon´s Axl, the Austrian Oak... UFFFFF

ASC > WSM. I like the dynamic events at WSM but they put way too damn much emphasis on the atlas stones. Plus if you have events where the majority of guys are getting 5+ reps or finish times where half the field are within 3 seconds of each other, then it's too light

What might be a reason is that. Some people started watching strongman when big Z was already on a more downwards trajectory and Brian was the dominant competitor in the sport. Just an idea due to that I also see that with my friends who started watching in that era and therefore not really know the eras prior due to that they are not really into the history of strongman.

@@kimaboe He got second at WSM last year, which is still regarded as the most important comp of the year. What are you smoking?

@@mancallednobody He still failed to qualify for ASC last time there was a proper cycle, losing out both in Barcelona and Santa Monica. And since then the number of athletes that can win one of those shows has probably doubled. Last one-day-show he competed in he placed 7th (Rogue Invitational). Those are the qualifiers now, one day shows with young up and comers. I still believe Brian can win WSM, because he has spent his whole career optimising his performance for that format and he is probably the goat in that competition. But even if he had qualified for the Arnold this year, I don't think he'd be on the podium. I'd think he'd realistically place behind Martins, Tom, Oleksii, JF, Trey and if he was competing Mateusz.
