If Texas’ Bijan Robinson was eligible for the 2022 NFL Draft, there’s a decent chance he would have been the first running back taken. Breece Hall went to the Jets with the 36th pick. Kenneth Walker to the Seahawks at 41. And James Cook to the Bills at 63. Out of these running backs, Robinson might be the most complete prospect.
Not only is he an excellent runner, he’s also dangerous as a receiver too. To go along with this 1100 rushing yards, and 11 touchdowns on the ground, he also gained an additional 300 yards and four touchdowns through the air. At one point, he w as considered a Heisman candidate, but a dislocated elbow ended his season early. As a primer to the 2022 college season, I wanted to look at his skill set. I wanted to see what Robinson offers to a future NFL team.

at 4:18 the blocking scheme is Duo, but the play is a read option, and the QB is reading 32 on the edge. The TE is running an arc block and purposefully lets 32 by to get to the second level.

Man, I miss the days where the running back position was the face of the NFL. Bijan Robinson is the Saquon Barkley of CFB. He is a bonafide superstar when healthy that unfortunately has to deal with mediocre offensive line and quarterback play.

That example you showed around 4:50 is the reason I love this dude. His angles are ridiculous and he doesn’t lose any time with his cuts and bursts. He always cuts just enough so he slides past ball carriers rather than trying to create as much space between him and the defender. His highlights are crazy good.

I think the early-mid second round is the sweet spot for a stud RB like Robinson. Anything earlier makes it harder to justify but I’d rather have a dude like him versus a below average guard.

If Bijan stays healthy the whole year, and can get just average OL play, I could see him close in on 1,800 yards rushing and 400 yards rec.

The good thing is, waiting till his junior year was his best decision. He’s got several teams looking for just 1-3 more pieces to make them full blown contenders. Instead of the usual best player goes to worst team, most rebuilding teams aren’t looking for an RB, it’s the teams that need to open the playbook a bit more that do.

@@TheGoogleScholar agreed. That's THE best contender for Bijan. They need a star in a bad way. With surprising Talent in Mills, they can hold it together and maybe hook a playoff run in 2-3 years with good signings/draft picks.

@@falcon1378 Well I don’t know that I’d call us contenders, but I appreciate the vote of confidence lol. I like what we have in Mills and I think we’re sneakily building a top 8 OL. We now have three 1st round picks there, and they’re locked in for the next few years. A guy like Bijan, and a real WR1 (no offense to Brandin Cooks), and our offense is set!

@@TheGoogleScholar I can say this because this is almost the same spot my Panthers were in a couple years ago. minus the super-bowl appearance, but we had a shot at a running back that was deadly in the passing game, shifty in the open field, and powerful against contact (Christian McCaffrey). Our offensive line wasn't as good, but we still picked up DJ Moore. If Cam hadn't screwed up his shoulder, or if we found a decent quarterback to replace him after 2019, we'd probably be a perennial playoff team. But Luke Retired early, Ron Rivera left, and now were stuck in, whatever we're in now. We still have a chance, I've been on this train for years, I don't plan on jumping off soon. The Texans have a chance to take what we did wrong with a fresh Qb, a top offensive line, and possibly a young offensive powerhouse. If Cincy could do it, you guys can too!

Don’t see first round in this guy. I have seen more dynamic college backs. Sometimes the media can make you see what you don’t. He does not have NFL speed, vision average at best. I wish the best for him, but he has a lot of work to do.

Im frustrated that I just dont see "elite" in this guy. He has good vision and pass catching. But he is slow AF when I watch him. I feel like Breece Hall was a better prospect, and I dont think hes anywhere near Saquon. I really hope Im wrong guys!! Cuz we need more exciting RB's in the league
