Wow, Phil is so fluent across such a broad range of topics - amazing. I expected him to be knowledgable after reading his book, but it's impressive to see how fluidly he can explain these complicated ideas! Thanks Katie!

Never considered the difference between running and cycling. You can self compensate for your wonkiness when running but not when cycling. Makes total sense. Thanks for this endurance series. Very helpful. ☮

This was great Katie! How terrific it would be to have a bike fit with Phil (if only you weren't 4,000 miles away from me). Your videos always have great content and I recommend them to all cyclist that I know. Well done Katie and Phil!

Funnily enough, I spent £180.00 on a Retul Bike Fit today at my local cycling store, for my new Canyon Grail:ON e-gravel bike. Main problems were sore sit bones and aching hands. The bike fit was extremely thorough and went through just about everything and I felt much more comfortable by the end of it. Now I need to cover some distance to see if the adjustments made suit my riding style etc.?

Cracking advice , I really need a bike fit , I get a lot of numbness in my left foot and knee pain , and I think my left leg is not rotating as strong as my right , after watching your video Katie I think I need a shorter crank arm

There is a bike fit set up a out 7 miles from me. Quite tempted as my local roadie club is doing an audax on the 19th (welland valley cc). Funny but although the bike fitters are welland valley as well, they are nothing to do with the club. Sooo, they have 3 packages. Entry at £65, intermediate at 125 and the full package for 165. What set up would you go for for endurance?

Very interesting .... never knew the effects of crank length as mine simply were what they were.... must say a bike fit did help my knee pain so I will always suggest it. 👍

Out-takes yet, Katie!!! Very professional!! I see you left one in, though. It was when Phil said "phrased a coin" - or is that the way you say it over there? Re your 'main' camera: throw away the one that is NOT your main camera, Katie! Finally, your face appears as it really is, not that looong one that you usually show. How long have you had the Sony Mirrorless? Last month, I bought a Canon Mirrorless, the M50, and I love it. It is so small (with the kit lens on) that it fits in one pocket of my jersey (though I will get a handlebar bag for it). I have never had a Bike Fit but I have been riding for many years, including some fairly long rides and have not had a problem that I can remember. Keep the vids coming and best wishes to you from Downunder!

Hello, I like your videos, very informative, do you have a video of how to start off cycling, not everyone can afford to buy the top range bikes, hints and tips to what to buy and what to avoid would be canny.

Have a look in the description I have written a whole ebook about that :) I also did a 10 part video series for new cyclists. It’s in my playlists section of my channel

I often hear about saddle height. Saddle adjustment fore & aft but very little mention of saddle tilt. As a new rider (longest ride was 12 km) but when I’m in the drops the pressure on my man bits is quite uncomfortable. Would a slight tilt down alleviate that? Cheers from 🇨🇦

another good video. thanks. recently i put my bike on a trainer...and found the lower handlebar position uncomfortable (yet does not bother me on the road). so i raised it about 2.5 cm and it feels fine. will have to test it on the road. Another funny thing occurred to me. what does someone call "endurance ride". standards will vary. for me it used to be say four plus hours (as teen), now i think 3 or 3.5 hours is endurance ride. longest ride ever only just over 6 hours 135 miles. when really out of shape a 40 km ride felt long. now 50 km is routine.
@KatieKookaburra4 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s all relative but for me anything more than 100km I would say is endurance :)

seems to be a hole in the bike market once you hit the 5 foot 9 plus or minus you fall between the medium and large most of the time ... bike fitting does not get the time or credit it deserves either... from seats to shoes... you spend a fortune on a basic bike and need to spend a load more to just get comfortable.... bike fashion changes every few months ...not to sure about the road bikes but with mountain bikes things change so fast.... its quite confusing when you are only start out ..
