Bike Rack and Mounting Rail for Pickup Truck

Custom strut channel rail system used to mount fork-mount bicycle holder and eye bolts for cargo hold-downs. Mounted to the bed of my Chevy Colorado.

Thanks. I verbally indicate what all the components are at 0:30 in the video. The “Superstrut” channel and fittings were purchased from Home Depot in the electrical department. I used the thinner Superstrut (1-5/8” wide by 11/16” deep). The bicycle holders and 3/8” eye bolts were bought on eBay.

What keeps the fork mounts from sliding down the strut channel? Do they lock in place when you screw them in?

Thanks for the question. The strut channel cone washers twist into position. Once the bolts are tightened, they lock into the strut channel and will not move. It works great!

@@williamforbess9095 Superstrut and its accessories (strut washers and cone nuts) can also be typically found at Home Depot or electrical supply houses. It really works well for this application.
