I am really glad that most of the KZbin woodworkers and makers show when they mess something up or have to go back to the drawing board in mid construction, it helps to know that you guys are human like the rest of us.

Paint the other side with chalk board paint. Let your kids decorate it and leave you messages. Also another way to leave yourself messages, to remind you to pick up something as you leave. Might have to write it big, and your neighbors will know when you're out of TP, but that's a different story.
@Geeksmithing9 жыл бұрын
+Woodworking Geek He said the chalkboard paint thing at the end of the video broseph ;)

I've had the idea of a bike rack floating around in the back of my mind for a while now. Your design is great for your situation, but we only have two, and they are about the only things left in my shop that aren't woodworking-related (besides the freezer). I thought of using one-inch galvanized pipe for a rack and running a chain around one of the carport posts to keep it safe. But another possibility is installing overhead hooks under the carport and hanging them there. Locking them up and hiding them from view would be a consideration; in fact, I'm afraid that two bicycles hanging in plain view would serve as a lure to bring thieves up the driveway, where they might figure out that what's in the shop is a lot more valuable than what's hanging in the carport. Thanks for this inspirational video!

This looks great. I will be building a shed this spring and needed a bike rack ideas to store all the exact same things your kids have. Only have three but they all have a bike, scooter, little tikes car(s), skateboard, pogo stick and who knows what else. My first solution was hang them in my garage, but would have ran out of room.

A length of wire stretched tight across the wider upper section would a be a good solution to prevent the skateboards working loose on a windy day, use it to hang the boards up by the trucks. It would make it easier to hang them up after use too - the smallest kid wouldn't be walking in with a bump on his head after trying for the umpteenth time to rest the tail on the shelf. Nice build.

Very nice - I built a shed for the bikes due to weather conditions as well as insurance. Now, though, I'm considering to open it up at least for temporary storage as getting to the bikes is sort of a hassle. Will forward your solution to my better half to see what she thinks. As always - great video, editing and description. Cheers and thanks!
@fedorsachse69199 жыл бұрын
bob has a carport so he doesn't need a shed, but, since you have one, you can make a fence-type of front kimda like his bike rack so you can access the bikes etc fast enough (maybe through a swingdoor) or park them in front of it when in a hassle
@JMTosses9 жыл бұрын
Fedor, I like the idea. I have some other projects that take priority but I'll be considering the fence idea when proceeding to the bike solution. Cheers!

You should consider having your wife and kids involved in this type of project. I think it would be really cool to see your family helping out (for example holding a board up while you nail it in place or maybe even painting something). Idk, I just think it'd be really cool to see the people that most support you take part in your projects :)

+CZ Cosplay Yeah, I agree. I'd love to get them involved in videos, scheduling is kind of tough. 3 kids in school (usually at the times I'm making videos) and my wife taking care of the youngest. We're planning on including them all this year though.. just have to find the best way to make it work.

I see the stand is underneath an overhang connected to the house, so humidity/rain won't be much of a problem, but a layer of varnish wouldn't hurt i bet.
