I hope so too! I don’t know much about horses, but…Does anyone wonder why did he run away from his owner?
@TheTempest66 Жыл бұрын
@@annabelleszellem3274 As a lifelong equestrian, this looks typical of a horse who was spooked by something unfamiliar, tossed his rider without meaning to and got himself into a blind panic. You could see he was settled down to be reunited with his mom. My own horse spooked at a turkey, flew sideways, unseating me and panicked without mom to guide him in strange territory and panicked even more when he couldn’t see me. Motorized vehicles aren’t always a friendly sight for them. I had to catch up with my horse back at the barn where, when he recognized the sight of me he couldn’t get to me fast enough. Also this is a stallion. They have a LOT of energy which sometimes works against them being an easily panicked animal of prey evolutionarily. Owners are too often blamed for the actions of these hyper vigilant animals that we learn to work with as evolutionary predators ourselves. 😊

Horses get into a truly blind panic in unfamiliar territory especially if they’ve inadvertently unseated their rider. I’ve ridden all my life. My horses would never recognize me on a motorized vehicle. They have very different eyesight than we do and a different way of focusing. He may have been listening for her but couldn’t hear her over the motor. Horses, evolutionarily, are prey animals and horses bonded with their owners are more likely to panic when not having them to guide them in an unfamiliar place, best guidance, being on his back at this point. Horses spook over plastic bags, turkeys, sounds all the time and their natural response is flight.

@anadubar48192 жыл бұрын
@@monicaperez2843 They are a type of large pony. I think they originate from Austria, as there is an Austrian county called Hafling (now part of Tirolia in Northern Italy as it was annexed after WW II). There are still plenty of them in Austria, and they all have the same colour, golden fur with almost white mane and tail. Traditionally they were used by farmers in the mountains as working horses as they are muscular and resistant, although the new type is lighter than the old type due to breeding with Arabian horses. They are still sometimes used to drag logs out of the woods, where heavy machines don't have access to. But mostly they are used for riding and are considered ideal for children because of their small size and patience and good nature (Walter might be an exception, though). There is a breed that might be related, because they have the same white mane, but their fur is chocolate coloured and they are much heavier. They are called Schwarzwalder Kaltblut (Black Forest cold blooded horse). Sad fact: the horses used for Italian horse salami are mainly unwanted Haflinger. 20 years ago I saw a documentary about horse meat and it gave me nightmares. These adorable horses broken and desperate and pleading for their lives ....
