The report is from 2014. Even though good Gopros already existed at that time, the report said, the guy is filming those races for over a decade already. Means, he started filming long before Gopros. So he needed to be creative and I think he got used to the weight on his helmet. But I am sure, if he still does what he does today, he very likely does it with Gopros. Having the Gopro Fusion on the upside of the helmet would be neat, since you see EVERYTHING.

This in no way "makes the Tour De France look like a practice run" - The Tour De France is on average 3500km...split in 20 days of cycling - Riders hit speeds of upwards of 120km/hr on very windy downhill narrow mountain road descents. Crashing can be fatal or career ending - It is considered probably the hardest sporting event ever created. Riders at the end of the Tour De France are so weak they lose muscle and even bone density. - Try riding up a mountain for 6 hours and do that on nearly 6 mountain stages of the Tour. Go to your local street with a hill and bike up that hill...see how tired you get after 1 minute of hill climbing on a bike. - Sprints in the Tour De France hit 70km/hr on a flat road; riders are literally centimeters away from each other going 70km/hr. Crashing and pileups are almost inevitable sometimes For the Tour De France to be considered a practice run, a couple dozen riders would need to pull out of the race before it even finishes...a lot of riders can't even finish the tour de france due to crashing out or just fatigue. And these guys are considered the elite of the elite in the cycling world and some still can't finish.

She is following a bike race, therefore not going at normal motorcycle speeds. She is also filming a video, so bike helmet lets you see her face as she talks. Bike helmet is better for visibility to see her face as she is reporting. Motorcycle helmets covers too much and less comfortable and ruins her hair. They also probably don't have an extra motorcycle helmet available. Bike helmets are more common and cheaper and more available at a moment's notice. It's Mexico so the rules are more laxer.

No issues with cyclist just jerks idiot cyclist we have a problem with. We love cyclists we follow the rules as they help relieve traffic jams and helps with parking. We have problems with cyclist who put other lives at risk for a sake of a cheap thrill unnecessarily. By running red lights and making other with green lights stop for them. Same goes for many motorcyclist, scooters, skateboarders. Anyone who doesn't respect the rule of law and puts others at risk and think the laws don't apply to them. No regards for life and respect of other's space and safety. That is what we are against. How many wheels you have we don't give a shit. Same goes for DUI drivers who don't' care about other people. Maybe we would care about you if you start caring about others first. You want us to care about you when you don't give two f***s about other's safety. We could care less what mode of transporting you choose. It is your lack of concern for safety and life that we have a problem with.

I'm a biker myself but this is unreasonable! They break a lot of traffic rules and make the roads unsafe for others.

SoundsLikeFelix Except the risk is reduced by following the traffic rules, which they obviously don’t.
@SoundsLikeFelix6 жыл бұрын
mortal danger is introduced to street traffic almost exclusively by cars with their high speeds and large masses. having traffic rules significantly reduces the danger, but still 11 people per 100.000 inhabitants are killed in traffic in the usa every year (that roughly equates to one 9/11 every month). in contrast: for a bike-rider it is almost impossible to kill someone other than themselves in a traffic accident. so while these (admittedly somewhat irresponsible) alleycat races look spectacularly dangerous and grab our attention, they are not what we should actually be worried about.
@ivoivic24486 жыл бұрын
those people are killed because those who killed them didn't follow the rules and if you think a bike traffic accident can't kill anyone but the cyclist, you're an idiot. you're an idiot anyway, but you're a fucking idiot in that case.

I've ridden numerous organized events... I've visited Mexico City five times.... And I would never ride my bike or drive in the city. I drive trucks for a living in Vancouver and when I arrive in Mexico City my girlfriend, who lives in the city... Does all of the city driving. This chaotic race gives cyclists a bad reputation. If I saw one of these riders pass me... You'll be on the receiving end of a football tackle.
