Crazy to see an AXS chain worn that early. Even using a normal drip lube (Rock n Roll Gold), my Red AXS chains lasted over 7,000 miles before they hit 0.5 stretch on a CC-4. I just switched to Silca chain wax and a Force AXS chain about six months ago though. I'm wondering if it will make it to 10,000 miles before 0.5 stretch. For cleaning my AXS derailleurs, I pull the batteries and replace them with SRAM's red plastic cover and use Finish Line e-Shift Cleaner or 99% IPA with a small brush. I also clean the battery terminals on the derailleur and the battery itself with 99% IPA and a brush. I own an original Red AXS groupset from April 2019 that now has 17,000 miles on it. Still works perfectly.

I just noticed something while watching this video - when you wash the bike you don't rinse it with water, you just wipe off the soap residue with a microfibre towel? I like that because I'm always concerned about getting water into the head tube, bottom bracket and rear hub. But don't you risk having dirt particles in the soap residue which could scratch the frame when you wipe it down?

I'm no expert but I don't think you can use that chain checker to measure wear on a SRAM axs chain. Only park tool cc4 or Pedro's chain checker are compatible. The tool your using will always show the chain as worn I believe

Are the rollers a non standard diameter then? Other than the pitch not being 1/2" between each pin I can't see how his chain checker would not work

Park Tools says to use the CC-4 for SRAM flat top and T-type 12 speed chains. Is this bike 11 or 12 speed? I assume 12 speed because the video title says SRAM 2023.

@@WARDANT1 I have no idea why other than it says on the SRAM site to use only park tool cc4 or Pedro's chain checker 1 or 2 for all Axs eagle and road flat top chains

07:47 - Simon, I've got SRAM Rival AXS exactly like this set-up, is there an A+B screw adjustment on the rear derailleur for SRAM AXS? My chain slips off the biggest ring but I can't see an A+B screws to adjust it ?

Quick question for you, When you use thin oil. Does in need to be specifically thin oil? Or can it be something like assembly paste (probably to thick) or something as simple as some chain lube? Great video as always

Thin oil can get into places thick oil cannot so it depends on the application but there’s certainly a place for it!🧡
