I have a soft spot for Suzuki's GSXR line since it's beginning. I must say though, as an "old school" rider, I still love 750s and admire Suzuki for keeping one around for so long. Regardless, this is a great bike. Good review.

Glad to see Suzuki is still mixing it up. They were always good at having a balanced package in a bike, where all the components worked together cohesively. Makes for bikes that feel naturally suited to riding fast.

This Bike is Amazing. It definitely is one of the better looking Gixxers and on top of that, the other bikes will have major trouble keeping up. Who cares about the exhaust. Everyone always changes there exhaust ANYWAY. I can see all the haters of Suzuki cringing in despair because they know that ISH just got real!!! Absolutely Love this bike. Can't wait to hit the motorway and do a track day with this piece of kit!!

Wish manufacturers would just get on with it already and give whp not bhp. Yeah I know people are going whine and cry about how different dynos under different conditions blah blah blah. Just run the damn thing with your best dyno and under control conditions and be done with it. It isn't like these big manufacturers can't afford a controlled environment. So tired of hearing its got 200hp and as good as BMW or whatever comparison. Rubbish, take the time for a proper dyno run and give it to consumers straight, because guess what? As soon as that bad boy hit's a dealer, some guy will immediately take it to a dyno and do it anyway. The new GSX-R1000R as always has some great mid range numbers, but it ain't no BMW. The word is, the throttle mid-corner is jerky, and the brakes fade bad. The BMW, smooth mid-corner in throttle and brakes are good. I am impressed with the GSX-R1000R quick (up) and blip (down), though once again word is blipping to 1st is producing false neutrals, not so with the BMW. So a very good bike, and very good improvement, but it still ain't no BMW.

Strange that it doesn't have a crossplane crank when the Moto-gp bike has it since both race and street versions of the Yamaha R1 does.
@exothermal.sprocket7 жыл бұрын
Because there isn't anything wrong with flat-plane.
@Sunedosa7 жыл бұрын
Yea i know but Yamaha always tied their liter sports bike to motogp since the start of the 4stroke era, suzuki did the same when they last were where in motogp. It took a few years for Yamaha to abandon flat-plane cranks for their top teir bike, i'd hazard a guess we'll see suzuki doing the same within a few years. Don't get me wrong though, i think a flat-plane motor sounds a million times better.
@exothermal.sprocket7 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think crossplane engine designs sound great for a Terminator Mustang V8. But a flat plane engine sounds better in a sportbike than it does in a Ferrari.

@Death666wish7 жыл бұрын
Honda are getting their butts handed to them in WSBK, and it seems the same is coming for them in magazine shootouts by the looks of things when you compare reactions on the Blades reviews against the reactions on the GSXR's reviews.
@Death666wish7 жыл бұрын
Now had it been an exhaust shootout, the Honda would win, this exhaust is comical, I'm surprised I didn't notice it right away until it was pointed out, but now it is like the bike's significant other, not another part of it! However, the GSXR will then roll out the showroom floor, and the Honda would lose yet again. I'm disappointed as I've had high hopes for the Honda, not that I'd ever get a liter bike, I'm already going way to fast on my 650!

Why the hell Suzuki fucked up the GSX-S750 again. They should've put the indicators this GSX-R has on the GSX-S. They should've made it 10 kgs lighter and they should've increased the rev limiter by 250 RPMs. (On top of the changes they did) Can't they understand that if you go against triples with a 4-cylinder inline, you have to make it light to be able to compete. Yet it's even heavier than the GSX-S1000.

So I watched and listened to the whole vid and it was more of a praise report rather than a thorough review. Because a thorough review would have talked about any weakness, even if small. Because all bikes have something that could be better. Now days we watch and hear someone being a mouth piece of MFGs and possibly being paid to say nice things, rather than unbiased reviews. Too bad, because as a consumer this review (i mean praise report) forces me to go elsewhere for a real REVIEW!!
@BikeWorldTVshow7 жыл бұрын
Getis Realis we didn't get paid anything for this, Suzuki don't advertise with us unlike most other bike media. Check the title, first ride review. Why don't you get off your ass and ride it for yourself.
@jryer17 жыл бұрын
@Bike World - "Why don't you get off your ass and ride it for yourself?" You were invited or allowed to test ride the new GSX-R1000R on a race track correct? Tell me one dealer anywhere that will allow Joe Public to take that bike out to the track to put it through the paces? So I hope that answers your question, but even if it doesn't you still didn't answer the main problem with this review. The entire video sounds like a promotion, and anyone watching it would be very hard pressed to hear an objective unbiased review. But that's ok, because others did just that, and the negatives about the bike are; brake fade, blipping down to first is causing false neutrals, and throttle at low rpms (mid-corner) is a bit jerky. See now you have a bonafide review from a guy who "didn't even get off his ass to unsuccessfully beg a dealer to let him take it to the track!" In the future just state an unbiased pro vs cons, so consumers can make an educated decision. For instance I know the BMW is still better overall, but repairs on the GSX-R1000R are cheaper, so I might still buy it. See how that works. You smiling all video long spewing nothing but praise about the bike leaves track riders scratching their heads because we know better. Great bike, not so great a review.
