All happy and eager to please. It comes off as bumbling but really Clark is just genuinely sincere and it’s so refreshing. We have so many brooding, angsty heroes. What’s wrong with a little sunshine and easy smiles? I love Batman. I really do. But given a choice I’d pick supes any day. But THIS Superman. Not the Henry caville version Either Tyler or reeves. @atiqahdiyana56653 жыл бұрын
@@Pakilla64 it’s up to preference. If you like him, that’s valid. Nothing wrong with that. Me, I’m not a fan. My issue is Zacks direction. Not Henry specifically (The guy could’ve been a great Clark) We’ve been knee deep in angsty, brooding heroes since Tim Burton than Nolan and it was great but when everyone kept the train going without actually adding anything new it just got exhausting. Then you have this fan favorite well loved character who’s supposed to be a paragon of hope and optimism and simple goodness and kindness and it could have been a shot of fresh content into the superhero genre in movies but instead they bog it all down with these complicated angsty metaphors that drowned out the original true spirit of his character until there’s just no real contrast between Superman and Batman and it all just becomes a part of the mono aesthetic background that was BVS and it’s just exhausting I have problems with the MCU but they took captain America (a character that’s been raked through the mud in the comics) dusted him off until they could see what was actually there and they kept themselves honest to it and for that I give them credit. The DCEU tried to hard to be what they thought was cool and edgy and in my opinion it fell flat. Same with their other movies except for maybe wonderwoman. Though I have my fingers crossed for the new Suicide Squad movie because James Gunn is a director that knows how to have fun. But like I said, this is all preference. You’re still allowed to like Henry/Zacks Superman and you’re still valid for it The Joker movie definitively sucks though.

I love how the story features Lois as NOT chasing Superman, either as a love interest or a story. Superman gets involved in this villain plot because Lois helped him figure it out, not because he happened to save her. Or someone like CNN actually lying through their teeth and saying it was illegal for the American people to read WikiLeaks and other great documents so tune in every week so the reporters can read it and tell you what to think is in it a exalted category in law, at least we could sack and black bar every current member but every American citizen is a journalist these days since we have better cameras with more shooting life and better global research in our pockets then all of the New York times did at its heyday in the late 1960s.

I thought Tyler's first appearance in Supergirl was decent in terms of what he was given to work with, and I thought Tyler nailed most of what he was given to work with. After that, the writers on Supergirl seemed determined to piss on Superman whenever they got the chance. I'm still pissed after all these years that in the season 2 finale, they had Supergirl actually beat him when Superman himself was going all out because he thought he was fighting Zod. If Superman was going all out, she would be dead. He had over a decade of experience being Superman fighting equally powerful foes and she beat him because apparently, she is just that amazing. She was so amazing that afterwards, the script insisted Tyler's Superman must kiss her ego whenever he walked on set for multiple seasons to come. Tyler earned this show, I'm not sure I could have put up with all the shit he had to deal with to get this far.

Apples to oranges. Welling's Metropolis clumsy Clark wasn't emphasized because it was a different take on the lore and it was from the point of view of the audience who saw his start from Smallville and the fact that Lois already knew him before being a coworker hence the omission. There were only a number of scenes where he appeared clumsy and even fewer where he wore his disguise. In fact it was only on one scene. It was when he wore the Legion ring where he saw the future and he was already a full-fledged Superman, so to speak.

I don’t know why but I really love how Clark watches Seinfeld reruns and eats frozen chicken nuggets.

I much prefer the idea that he's genuinely that awkward and only plays it up to push clark and superman apart

For Clark Kent a normal work day start can be both simple and exciting. Also meeting and working with Lois💙

Superman actually has 3 personas contrary to popular belief - the bumbling Clark we see here, the Kal-El/Superman one, and his actual true Clark persona. The last one is only seen when he's with in Smallville with his family or people he trusts. The "dork" Clark persona is only when he's in Metropolis around large civilian environments.

When Clark references Seinfeld it is such an in joke because Jerry was famously obsessed with Superman.

What this show does with showing Clark Kent as a great reporter is amazing. In the comics and in the Bruce Timm show, being a reporter and writer was his asset in knowing what he can help save next.

People are so dazzled by the powers of Superman that they forget that he's really just a small town farmboy at heart. Sure, some of the bumbling is affected as part of his cover for being the "perfect" Superman, but look closer, especially when he first gets to the Daily Planet. He's nervous during his interview with Perry, he constantly loses track of Lois because he's rather starstruck by being able to rubberneck at everything going on in the bullpen, he's a country boy whose only experience as a reporter was for his high school newspaper and now here he is in the heart of the greatest newspaper in the greatest city in the world so he's living his dream. No need to fake the bumbling. Once he gets used to his surroundings, of where he is and who he's with (Pulitzer Prize winning reporter), he's so busy learning that being a buffoon slips his mind and he lets his natural inquisitive nature come to the fore. Plus, Lois reinforces his desire to help the little guy by her focus on helping the man on the street instead of the new flashy story about the miracle man doing amazing stunts (his other identity as Superman). That she's focused on the real news that can help people no doubt also probably has something to do with his attraction to her. He's connecting with her as Clark, not as the "other guy" (as another mild-mannered man said about his alter-ego). I like this. This is the way their relationship should have developed all along. Great writing, great insight into the character, great acting in bringing larger than life characters to life as realistic, everyday people. 👍

The best change to modern Superman stories is having Lois fall in love with Clark instead of Superman. It makes her seem far more genuine and shows that she cares past the power and fame that Superman has.

Literally my only gripe with this superman is how short he is lol. Like the story and essence of the show I get like Christopher reeves, dean cain, and some tom welling vibes off of it. Like the great aspect of the shows and movies combined into this. Honestly this is the first superhero show in a while that I’m watching with my mom again because we both adore it

He's not that small, Tyler is 6' tall.
@Red-li2ys Жыл бұрын
Doesn't that actually help with the immersion? Superman contrary to popular belief isn't a super tall, muscled out hero. He'd look exactly like how an average mid-west American male would look. 6'0 180 sounds about right.

Seinfeld, not a big fan myself, buy I get I get why his name was said. Jerry Seinfeld is famously a Superman fan, and they even did an AMEX commercial together. The reference was almost a thank you to all the fans whom have shown Supes love over the years
