I saw this movie when I was way too little to get it, and this was a great way to reintroduce it to the adult me. And yeah, we're definitely in the "almost wasn't" timeline

I love this movie because it was filmed in and around my hometown of Tempe, Arizona. The mall used was the now-defunct Metrocenter Mall in Phoenix; San Dimas High School (exterior) was filmed at Coronado High School in Scottsdale; they went bowling at Tempe Village Lanes; Napoleon "cooled off" at Golfland/Sunsplash in Mesa; and my favorite location was at the Circle K on Southern and Hardy in Tempe. "Strange things are afoot at the Circle K."

As an English major and teacher, I am offended by his (and many people today who do the same) reference to himself as "they/them/their." That is a PLURAL pronoun. It would only be correct if he has multiple personalities. People need to choose one of the only two genders that exist in reality and stick with their choice. We should not be coddling people's mental illness and telling other people to accept it as "normal" or be called "haters."

@@SunshineCatwoman thnx for correcting me (even unintentionally). I forgot that Sam is going non-binary route. I'm not invested enough in their careers to remember all those things about them 😁 As a foreigner, the whole debate is a bit abstract to me. We often use plural to address someone with respect so it's not such a big deal but our language is so gendered that it's impossible to solve the issue with mere pronouns 🤷
