This material works for him because he has no hate in his heart plus he respects the culture he's talking about. I'm Black. I find it funny as hell. This goes to show that white people can talk about race to a Black crowd and not be called racist.

@@solaria5513 you have totally misinterpreted my comment. I'm saying his values are in line with SJWs(or a pro sjw narrative). He is kinda embracing the racial divide in a clever and provoking manner. Basically showing everyone is the same but hilariously different. This is true moral fiber rather than just complaining about anything to show the world how "woke" and forward you are. That's all I'm trying to explain. And I likely am much older than you. A more mature person may have not lashed out angrily for no good reason and allow themselves to look stupid. O well. And to the other commenter i typed post-racial but it auto corrected. But basically I am saying he doesnt ignore prejudice or differences but he delivers the material to show it doesnt really matter.

In the last year I've personally discovered and developed an appreciation for Bills comedy. I just spent the last 2 days in Harlem for the first time and this clip kept poppin up in my head. I'm black and this bit was already hilarious to me before I was familiar to Harlem. The Donald Glover line was actually less funny once you realize the other streets are really right in the hood where hours/days pass without seeing black people. I try to reiterate this joke, but the navigation of multiple issues is just too perfect. He explicitly says he's prejudiced, but if you can get past that and realize he's not racist, the jokes are gold. His stereotypes probably turn people off, but they're prefaced as his friends/associates. He uses his inner turmoils to expose societies racial issues. That's what puts him in the rankings with Chappelle in regards to delivering an experience without it being a personal issue. If Bill seemed pissed off about the guys joking him, or if he didn't acknowledge how black people go through similar experiences he would seem to be an ignorant racist with ssues. Bill is dope.
