David Phelps is a gift from God. His amazing voice has got me through many tough times. You feel the hand of God upon you when David sings. You need to hear more of his songs. He can sing anything. My favourite is no more night, also Gentle Saviour. He is a very well known gospel singer.

David is classically trained and is one of the best tenors on the planet hands down. He is huge in the gospel community and was a member of the Gaither Vocal Band for many years. He does a killer cover of Whitney's "I Have Nothing" as you can see in other comments. He sings his own amazing version of Nessun Dorma and Ava Maria. He has a new album out with some great music on it, "Hello Beautiful", I Remember What We Thought Love Was", "Song For Sinners". Then he has a plethora of classics like "No More Night", "End of the Beginning", and one of my favorites of his, "Just As I Am". The passion he sings with and his vocal ability are, in my opinion, unmatched. He is definitely another rabbit hole artist.

agreed but you're not gonna like this -- I would submit that David has not found many excellent songs yet, and it holds him back from the public. HITS that are originals. his stand out songs are all of the classics other people have recorded. he does the best, granted! but he needs to find that songwriter or those songs that have indelible hit quality. "end of the beginning" or others just don't have epic hooks. when I go on Spotify and see how low his listener base is, compared to other singers like Josh Groban, my heart just drops because there are so many people who need to hear David's voice. but it's going to take catchier songs. like I said not a popular opinion! :-)

David Phelps is Gospel music's best kept secret, also known as The Voice in the industry. Whitney Houston was actually a fan of David's and considered him one of the best male vocalist alive, in return David was and is a big Whitney Houston fan himself and that is one of the reasons he performed her song I Have Nothing this past year. He is now 52yrs old and sings as well as ever, with 25 years worth of songs that can be found on youtube. He is also a brilliant song composer and arranger and though he will never admit it a great musician in his own right.

David joined The Gaither Band just prior to this performance...It's a huge Gospel Group. He was very shy....but when he sings...it's like he's preaching the Gospel....so much devotion and a voice blessed by God. Nic I can't tell you how happy I am you found him. Our sweet, incredible David! The piano player is Anthony Burger. He died during a Gaither Concert of a massive heart attack at the age of 44. We miss him so much! His music awards are amazing! Be sure and listen to David with the Gaither Vocal Band. He does some songs that will give you chills!

Bill and Gloria Gaither are hosting the event. Bill Gaither has a vocal band as well as hosting many southern gospel event. David was a member of the vocal band for about 12 years. He is the greatest tenor I have ever heard. Listen to "No more night". It will blow your mind. Every note and word he sings comes straight from the heart in order to bring God glory. Even non-Christians can listen to this version of O Holy Night and be moved by the power of David's amazing voice.

OMGosh. I've been listening to David Phelps for years. He always gives me chills. I encourage you to listen to "No More Tears". I hope it's not sacrilegious but I had it playing 4 days ago when I had to have my precious, sweet angel dog put to sleep. With tears streaming down my face, a small Christmas tree with lights, and lit candles, David Phelps sang "no more pain". My sweet Lola baby peacefully transitioned to her next life. No more pain for my lively pup, but for me, I'm shattered. Phelps helps remind me that God promises "no more pain".

I’ve been a huge David Phelps fan since around 1997 when he joined the vocal band. Best voice on earth imho. It’s the chord change on “til he appears…” that gets you. David attended Baylor university and majored in vocal performance so yes he is classically trained. That said he has always had this gift of amazing vocal abilities. Listening to this man sing gave me chills!! I feel like I just got a sneak peak/glimpse of what Heaven's choir is going to sound like and David Phelps is the lead singer!! When David goes into the chorus for the second time I felt like I was hearing an angel that has been sent to Earth to sing for God's glory and for us to just sit back and enjoy and be in awe!!! This man has, without a doubt, a voice that has been blessed and annointed by God himself!! David is 53 years old this year and can still sing this good. What an amazing talent he is.
