I agree. Prop 2 in Florida where I live and I voted aganist it. Prop 8 and Prop 2 shouldn't been on the damn ballot. Gay people are still humans they have done nothing wrong and we need to stop treating them like second class citizens. Bill Maher stood up for gay people and though he's very cynical and we sometimes disagree. I like his stand-up and he's smart guy with one of the best shows on HBO!!!

I would like to know where you get your information about "human nature". If this is textbook material, they should probably re-write it. ;) To say "I don't know" doesn't mean I can't make up my mind (at least in this case). Making up my mind, or as I would call it in this particular case; start guessing, would not increase my _knowledge_ in any way. So if I came to a conclusion, I still wouldn't _know_ for sure if that conclusion was correct. ..It's called being open minded.

Mostly it's not, but the Australian Christian Lobby does it's best to block and promote some legislature, and most members of the Coalition are influenced by religion to some extent in their policy decisions. The majority of Australians support Gay Marriage, yet it's still not recognised, so there's that, as an example.
