kinda noticed barely any candidates challenged trump on his positions, in the gop they just called him out for saying inappropiate things and then try to attack him on his image which dosen't work since the dude has the biggest ego in the world. media won't call him out since they want to keep him for more interviews, his republican opponents didn't want to attack trump at first because they wanted him as a donor in case he dropped out like the last elections. They didn't attack his policies because they involved lowering taxes which gop likes even though he wanted to increase cost which would cause a big defecit.

I totally disagree. I think they really respect and admire each other and are probably fairly friendly. They're really similar in a lot of ways. They're of the same generation, they're both intellectual and witty comics with fairly liberal political views, and they're extremely sharp. They're also very different people in a lot of ways. Colbert is a deeply religious improv comic with a family and a nice house in the suburbs. Maher is a pot-smoking gun-owner. Colbert's an optimist at heart. Maher is deeply cynical.

They do Bill just isn't shy of openly showing signs of resentment. You can see Stephen is more reserved and thoughtful and i guess Bill actively tries to break that barrier, idk it gives for an interesting chemistry but they definetly respect each other on a basic level, they just have disagreements. Stephen likes to play it safe when commenting on political issues and tries to avoid edgy remarks, Bill however is the complete opposite that's why he seems unapproachable.

I sensed that Bill Maher doesn't like anyone from the Jon Stewart school of comedy: Colbert, Stewart were all competitors to his show and he seems pissed that he has never won an Emmy against these guys. There were quite a few awkward moments in the interview and Colbert tried to be as nice as possible.

Maher is easily my favourite of all the late night hosts. He masterfully navigates responding with total honesty and humour, whilst shutting down Colbert's rather feeble attempts at being the dominant alpha in the room.
